Well tonight the Library Board voted to set the stage to begin the end of the blessing of the 1962 endowment that Norton Simon and the Hunt Food & Industries Foundation donated to Fullerton. It was to be a building and park located in Southwest Fullerton, to the City on the condition that it is “used solely for a public library and public library park.” The donation became known as the Hunt Branch and is located at 201 S. Basque Avenue. Of course it has been City property since then and that means it is public property-our property. Looks like it is church property now,
Fullerton’s for sale ladies and gentlemen and it looks like Joe Felz, with our own property, is trying to buy off one of the political powerhouses in town with a sweetheart real estate deal right after Valentines day with Grace Ministries. An ambiguously worded agenda item, little to no details, a possible sole source bid down the line if coucil approves to not fund it and to sell it off, no appraisal-Has a backdoor deal already been penned waiting to go down?
Sean Paden’s campaign manager and Library board of trustees president Ryan Cantor along with trustee and former City Manager Chris Meyer, actually were working together to get the board to vote on taking what was given to the Fullerton residents to be a park and a library and set the stage for the possible sell off. You can’t do this with things that were given to the city for a specific purpose. This is completely unethical in a park poor, under served community.
Get this- They tried to do all of this without a complete description of the property, an appraisal, sufficient advanced notice to the public or other board members, details, or any written explanation confirming if this is even legal. The Library Board Agenda, put together by Felz, read ambiguously “Hunt Branch” with no description. What the heck was that supposed to mean? Yes they tried and succeeded to bamboozle the library board into voting to pass the buck to the rubber stamp hacks on the city council to cash this baby in for a song and a dance to one of the wealthiest non profits west of the Mississippi to take away a park and a library from an under-served area that so desperately needs it.
The agenda item and packet contained just one paragraph and the motion passed to send the decision to the council to find a whopping supposedly needed 1.3 million dollars to reopen the library or to sell it. It was cooked up with a ridiculously inflated 1.3 million dollars a year operating cost estimate with no documentation as to where this number came from to run and reopen a room full of inanimate books while almost all of the employees are still employed by the city leaving just lights and gas as books don’t eat, drink water or go to the bathroom. What a scam.
Yes and it appeared to be a carefully orchestrated attempt by Ryan Cantor and Chris Meyer to hoodwink the library board into setting the stage for disposing of public property in a most certainly immoral, unethical and possibly an illegal manner and set it up for Felz to get the council to sell it to Grace Ministries for a song and a dance. It is on hold for now until the council comes up with the 1.3 million, or denies the funding for reopening it and then they will try to rip us off one more time and short sale it to Grace Ministries where the grass is green and money flows in like the water flows out of Laguna Lake. Not if I can help it folks.
It appears that wireless danger denier Ryan Cantor library trustee and board president
Trustee and retired city manager Chris Meyer,
and City Manager Joe Felz
and Grace Ministries have no regard for the conditions of that original endowment much less the public in general and once again the Parks and recreation commission was bypassed on this one. Which council members voted to give Joe Felz an evergreen contract? Which council members voted to appoint Ryan Cantor and Chris Meyer to the library board? Why is Joe Felz so desperate to sell off Fullerton? Money and political favors or worse?
The Hunt Branch library served the community for decades until 2013, when it was closed ostensibly for safety concerns over a burgeoning homeless population. We all know the spike in the homeless population was a direct result of the Fullerton Police department murder of Kelly Thomas garnering worldwide attention and by defacto, allowed Fullerton to become sanctuary city USA for the homeless. The Hunt Branch library was now the scene of a new tent city.
In a tale of two cities, in such dark bitter irony, back dropped by abject poverty right at its doorstep, Grace Ministries International was just finishing up the $25,000,000 sanctuary to ostensibly worship God
while ignoring the plight of the less fortunate right under their noses. This appears to be nothing more than Joe Felz with the help of Ryan Cantor and Chris Meyer maneuvering the unsuspecting library board of trustees, into releasing control of the Hunt Branch into the hands of the council in a possible coordinated attempt to buy off the Grace Ministries’ massive Korean congregation’s political influence by setting the stage to get the council to hand over city property in closed session with a sole source bid at what could be a fire sale price.
Look at the price of this property when a church buys it from a city and look at what The Lark Ellen property sold for by a church to a developer? Why is the Hunt Branch not being reopened immediately to serve the community instead of being set up to possibly be sold in a sole source bid to Grace Ministries?
Look, I am a Christian ladies and gentleman and the behavior of this mega church corporation is not Christian and forget about Joe Felz and his sycophants like Meyer as well as the political operatives like Cantor . This church is in bed with the phony conservative Republicans like Royce, Kim, and Fitzgerald that are ruining what is left of our city and state as you slumber and elect these Trojan Horses. Instead of opening their doors to the poor, Grace Ministries is courting the money changers, refusing to engage the culture, refusing TO GET INVOLVED IN SOCIAL AND MORAL ISSUES, and locking out those in need while rolling out the red carpet to the Royce Machine and its phony RINO hacks like Young Kim and Jennifer Fitzgerald.
The church, with its burgeoning number of money changers, I mean administrators, supposedly needed the Hunt Branch library for office space even though right now is just being used as a library for the church. The property looks more like a railroad magnate’s estate up at the Huntington Library in Pasadena and is probably one of the most pristine properties in Fullerton surrounded by people crammed into apartments with no parks and no parking.
And the city wants this so called non profit corporation called a church that is rolling in hundreds of millions of dollars with no financial transparency to have even more of our public property taken out of public use,
There is more open space and office space on the Grace Ministries property than they know what to do with.
As the church wants to gobble up our library and possibly even Pacific Drive park, while the surrounding residents and their children have no where to go and nowhere to play.
Enter Joe Felz seen here at the 2-25-16 Library Board of Trustees meeting. The lights are on Joe.
Back in 2013 , Joe Felz cooked up a lease for $1300 a month to Grace Ministries to rent the facility that the city council gladly passed which clearly violated the terms of the original endowment. $1300 a month won’t even get you a studio apartment south of the tracks.
What happened next is heartbreaking.
Now Joe Felze orchestrates the BYPASSING OF THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION AGAIN and cooking up another land giveaway behind our backs with this latest land scam just like he tried to do with the Summit House lease a few months back.
Now assuming the council goes for this scam, the Hunt Library is rumored to be sold for a fire sale price in a sole source bid in closed session to Grace Ministries who already owns a 26-acre campus purchased in 2000 by the Korean congregation from ConAgra (formerly Hunt-Wesson Foods).
Here is the man on the library board that thinks the property needs to be sold because people can’t find it.
Amazing this library board trustee happens to be the retired Fullerton city manager Chris Meyer who is married to Janny Meyer, the forced irradiator of children in the Fullerton School District, FSD trustee Janny Meyer that made sure every last child in Fullerton has an iPad (infertility pad) that has google maps installed on them. Every kid in town could find this place but this this guy, no way.
The church is in bed with the state once again in Fullerton and like clockwork, when Felz shows up to a library board meeting with someone from Jones and Mayer’s office, you know someone’s getting hosed. Once again its the taxpayers.
So much for the church loving your neighbor. Looks like the church is once again ripping off their neighbor. What I see here is the church in bed with the State, and they are all crossing the line turning their backs on the poor and the taxpayers in lockstep disgusting harmony.
Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him,2and He began to teach them, saying:
3Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
This building at Grace Ministries in Fullerton looks more like a bank than a church. That’s because that is precisely what it is. MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF MONEY GO IN AND NEVER COME BACK TO THE COMMUNITY JUST LIKE CITY HALL.
Grace ministries doesn’t need more office space. They need to give it up to those who have nothing. They need to give up some of their “money for nothing ill gotten gain” and open their doors not to donors but to the needy right at their doorstep. While this massive Christian congregation remains silent on the issues of our time such as the nightmarish lies about how the children came from monkeys and rocks as the public schools continue the dumbbing down, brainwashing of school children, the sterilizing forced microwave wireless radiation in schools from the technology programs rammed down the kids throats that gets them all addicted to satanic video games, and the forced vaccinations The patron saint of Grace Ministries Young Kim voted for, we must not let them abscond with public property behind our backs even thought they have abdicated all their other responsibilities.
I remember when churches used to build orphanages. Now the government rips children from their families through social services, bonuses the social workers for removal, places them in nightmarish foster homes where they are forcibly drugged for even more money for the foster parents only to have the churches finish the job by helping parental rights get terminated with their aiding and abetting the for profit adoption rings while these churches take all the money and build investment portfolios instead of women’s shelters and temporary housing for those in need.
I remember when churches used to care for the poor and now the government has created a welfare system that has destroyed the family by making it impossible for a dad to be in the home creating a multigenerational poverty trap nightmare that has destroyed the self reliant, moral fabric of our society while these churches take all the money and build themselves real estate empires and set up more phony non profits.
I remember when churches used to care for the homeless and now they count all the money and build massive buildings and parking structures that sit empty six days a week while people sleep in the gutter and get beat up and murdered on the streets by police and evil sadistic people just because they have no place to go.
I remember when churches used to build schools. Now the churches run schools that are set up as non profits that take in $20,000 a month per classroom and the teacher is making $30oo a month if they are lucky. These church run schools are so expensive and no one can afford to send their children there while they pay the teachers poverty level slave wages. Now the government has sucked in every last boy and girl into a secular humanist mind control system that has now turned into a sterilizing microwave matrix with iPads irradiating the reproductive organs of every last child in town where they are forcibly injected with up to 65 toxic vaccines just to get in and be taught there is no God, where they are taught bogus science that destroys the validity of The Word of God, where its ok to cross dress, have 2 moms or dads, that they came from animals and its ok to act like an animal while these churches count all the money and court the corrupt politicians and officials directly responsible for all of the aforementioned virtually ensuring it all continues in unabated in perpetuity.
I remember when churches used to do what the Great Commission required of it-that is to preach the Gospel, be salt and light, and win the world over to The Lord. Now these mega churches count the cash, water down the message, refuse to influence and engage the culture in any meaningful way and remain silent as our society is crumbling while being completely satanized and morally bankrupted by virtually every aspect of its culture that the church has abandoned for its love of money. You will know a tree by its fruit. What kind of tree is Grace Minisitries?
In a much needed about face, we urge Grace Ministries to work with the City Of Fullerton, donate and help restore the facility to serve the community, not for more office space so they can devise more ways to fleece the flock while turning their backs on the least of these, that is the poor and less fortunate among us literally lying on their doorstep. Ironically the homeless spend many cold nights on the cold hard floor of the armory in the shadows of this urban oasis that is off limits to anyone except their donors. As a Christian myself, married to a lovely Korean American, this was a hard article for me to write but one that had to be written, nonetheless. These bizarre dichotomies need to end, people need to live up to what they profess, and these churches need to start working in their own backyards instead of abdicating their responsibilities to the government. They are tax free for a reason. The reason they exist is to serve the needy both the spiritually and the physically needy.
As far as the City council, lets see how corrupt they really are. Lets see if they vote to fund the reopening of this library. Lets see if they vote to give this piece of public property away for pennies on the dollar in clear violation of the public trust and in clear violation of the original grant conditions just to plug the gaping holes in the budget that the Felz, Flory, Fitzgerald, and Chaffee cabal cooked up and passed. Lets see what their rubber stamp lackeys on the planning commission that passed The DCCSP will vote to go along with this betrayal just like they went along with the massive betrayal with the DCCSP that will ruin Fullerton forever. If they do, then maybe, figuratively speaking, we can bulldoze all their tents at city hall in November at the ballot box.
Joe Imbriano 4 City Council

For people who claim to be such watchdogs in demanding transparency and honesty in your city government, you sure are misinformed. About 4 years ago, the Hunt Foundation agreed to remove the restriction on the city that the Hunt be preserved as a library and a park. Look it up! And the city would not sell the property for $1.3 million but probably three times that amount. Sheeesh!
#2 by Joe Imbriano on February 29, 2016 - 6:05 pm
The property was given to the city for a library and a park. The city needs more parks and more libraries because the population has grown tremendously since the 1960’s. This particular piece of public property is not to be recklessly disposed of to buy political influence and plug holes in a budget bleeding red ink from the greedy unions. The city government exists to serve the residents and not the city employees who for the most part don’t even live in the city.
#3 by ??? on March 1, 2016 - 12:11 am
Yup! The city has grown tremendously and continues to grow. So four years ago, the Hunt Foundation, which gave the property to the city, REMOVED the condition that it must remain a library. And now the city, with approval from the planning commission and city council council will determine what’s best for the citizens. Ask your hero Bruce Whitaker how he feels about cities owning too much property.
And yes, the city has grown tremendously, but when more housing is proposed to accommodate said growth, you go bonkers. So we need more libraries to accommodate the growth but not more housing??? Brilliant!!! And to say the growth in the city’s homeless population stems from Kelly Thomas being killed by the police might be most outlandish, ignorant statement I’ve ever read … anywhere. Homelessness is on the upswing all over So Cal and has nothing to do with Kelly Thomas’ death.
#4 by Joe Imbriano on March 1, 2016 - 7:36 am
Glad we have your attention. In November the citizens will determine what is best for them. Almost all of the planning commission needs to replaced as well as the council. Oh yeah they will act in the best interest of the citizens like when those rubber stamp hacks unanimously passed the DCCSP. Nice try. Bruce is my hero? Stay tuned pal and fasten your seat belt. Its gonna get rough.
#5 by Reality Is..... on March 1, 2016 - 9:29 am
LOL I love when Joe gets caught in a trick bag and instead of addressing his lack of information and facts, he gets mad and just says “well screw you anyways, just wait until November when all these council morons that hate me are gone.” LOL. Weak sauce Joe, weak. You would make a terrible city councilperson.
#6 by Joe Imbriano on March 1, 2016 - 9:49 am
Facts are facts. The plan was for a fire sale and now, just like we wanted, they have to go through a major political hoop to make Uncle Joe’s plan work and deny the funding for a reopening on the heels of the very same council’s vote to give the greedy police and firefighters unions raises with no way to pay for them. Ought to be interesting with the DCCSP on ice, and College Town back to the morgue.
The council is in their own trick bag now.
#7 by Joe Imbriano on March 1, 2016 - 10:26 am
Wrong, the article is correct in exposing what the plans are for this facility and now the price just went up and maybe the church won’t be swallerin’
#8 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 12:22 pm
The Hunt property was never purported to get sold for $1.3 million. You are flat-out wrong. And, as has been pointed out, the city absolutely has the legal right to sell the property and not keep it as a library. A word of advice Joe, when you go on the attack (which is all you do), you better be armed with facts, not half-truths, flat-out lies, or, worse yet, convoluted, ridiculous conspiracy theories.
#9 by Anon on March 1, 2016 - 10:42 pm
Eh, in respect of our forefathers and how important they found public education…. I think we can pretty much guess with certainty what their wishes would have been as far as keeping as many libraries open as we can. At some point we have to weigh core values and what this country was built on over the dollar. IMHO
#10 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 11:21 pm
I’m curious as to why the city believes that it would cost $125,000 a month to fund a building that they already own?
It’s staff is only 2 or 3 employees, and the rest are usually school children that volunteer to fulfill the Fullerton school systems community service requirements?
Why did/is the city only get $50 a day to rent the library out to the Grace Ministries church group?
#11 by truth on March 3, 2016 - 11:37 am
How the heck do you know Joe is wrong? Do you have proof he’s wrong or lying? Half-truths and flat-out lies, huh? Oh, I get it…you must be in bed with all those corrupt city officials to be here to discredit Joe. That’s the only reason why you are here. Joe is already making a difference in this town and you and your buddies can’t stand it. A word of advice to you: YOU better get YOUR facts straight before posting here, you MORON.
#12 by Sloppy Joe on March 3, 2016 - 1:57 pm
Well, truth, it’s not really that hard.
No one proposed selling Hunt for $1.300,000. It simply didn’t happen.
Name calling or screaming loudly won’t change that, sorry.
#13 by Joe Imbriano on March 3, 2016 - 6:11 pm
We will see how forthright these folks are when they comply with my CPRA request.
#14 by Joe Imbriano on March 3, 2016 - 7:41 pm
That was the information from my source that I was provided with. I have nothing in writing thus far so I go with my source. We will see what the price tag is and the CPRA request will reveal whether we are being ripped off again with what has been claimed to operate the Hunt. I am not arrogant, the people that have been ripping off the taxpayers for decades are. $1300 a month rent of our facility to the cash register church while people work three jobs for a 650 square foot apartment in the hood for $1300 a month? Look at the agenda item ambiguously titled “hunt branch” no details? Then a motion for a sale without investigating costs to repurpose, bypassing park and rec commissioners of which this is in their direct purview, without an appraisal, details of the sale and a 1.3 million number thrown around, then A SOLE SOURCE BID to give public property away to the church? Go wash a police car will you.
#15 by Fullerton Lover on March 3, 2016 - 7:46 pm
Can anyone else appreciate the dark irony of this picture that was taken after the Hunt Library branch closed, which clearly shows that the Fullerton Police Department actually had a “Hunt Branch Facility”, yet Fullerton City Manager, Joe Felz, stated that the main reason that the Hunt Branch was being closed when it did, was because the staff at the library didn’t feel safe coming to work?

#16 by Sloppy Joe on March 3, 2016 - 9:25 pm
You published it, Joe. It’s your lie. This “source” distraction is just nonsense. There is no source. You made it up.
Where’s your retraction? Where’s your apology? Where’s Barry’s apology?
And of course you’re arrogant. You flat out lie, you don’t apologize, you don’t print a retraction, and have the audacity to tell me to go wash a police car?
That’s the height of arrogance, Joe. Maybe you should wash your mouth out with soap.
Instead of plotting conspiracy theories based on lies you recklessly repeat, why don’t you just try not being a dick for a change? 139,999 people in Fullerton manage to do so every single day. You can, too.
If you think you can run a library for less money, I’m sure everyone would love to hear how, but no one is going to help you or listen if you treat everyone like inferiors.
#17 by Joe Imbriano on March 3, 2016 - 9:47 pm

No need to apologize, Sloppy Joe. You know you’re wrong and Joe is right, so stop acting like you know everything. It didn’t happen because it was stopped and not because it never happened.
Sorry, but you’re still a moron to think you can post here and expect people to believe you. Yeah, yeah, yeah…keep trying to discredit Joe all you want, but we all know Joe is right on the money all the time.
#19 by Sloppy Joe on March 4, 2016 - 12:51 pm
You can’t stop what never started, truth.
No one suggested, discussed, or voted on selling Hunt for $1,300,000.
Joe is an unapologetic liar.
#20 by truth on March 9, 2016 - 2:01 pm
Really? I think you’re the liar, sloppy Joe! Again, stop trying to discredit Joe for crying out loud.
#21 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 5:12 pm
Like Joe knows what facts are. He thinks the Earth is flat.
#22 by Joe Imbriano on March 3, 2016 - 6:14 pm
You can’t prove it is round because it is not. NASA is a total fraud
#23 by Anonymous on March 4, 2016 - 7:29 am
Joe, we have several centuries of evidence, let alone people actually seeing it from space. To believe the earth is flat explicitly demonstrates your inability to use logic.
#24 by Joe Imbriano on March 4, 2016 - 7:41 am
You have centuries of unproven theories and an occultic masonic agency that turns out computer generated images. Wake up. You actually believe we went to the moon in that jalopy?
#25 by anonymous on March 4, 2016 - 10:42 am
How do you know for a fact the earth is round? So, you believe in satellites that show the earth is spinning, right? Really? satellites in space? HAHAHA! Just type in satellite hoax and then come back here to tell me if you still believe the earth is round.
#26 by Anonymous on March 5, 2016 - 1:47 pm
If you believe satellites are a hoax, then you have a lot to learn.

How do you have the slightest clue what’s best for the citizens? There are thousands of citizens who attend churches that they feel are best for them. Yet to you, many of these churches are phony. There are thousands of citizens who favor more housing and business growth in town. Yet to you, planning for future growth is part of a conspiracy orchestrated by corrupt city officials. Joe, you have no clue what residents in this town want or need. The only thing you know is what’s best for Joe.
#31 by Joe Imbriano on March 1, 2016 - 3:03 pm
These churches are a joke. Do you like all the lines in the sky today and everyday when its 80 degrees and no rain for months? Like the 65 vaccines rammed into your kids, the forced irradiation in the schools, the city teetering on bankruptcy with the fire dept guys with their 1 million dollar a year overtime scam in the parking lot high fiving each other over the contract negotiations while the roads are all busted up, the water getting turned off and they have plans to add another 100,000 residents just to pay for all this parasitic out of control feast on the taxpayers? I deal with reality, you defend thuggery. How does it feel to be morally bankrupt? Which one of these phony churches do you attend? Will you be washing police cars, painting a school or watching the Kelly Thomas video 400 times with Dan Hughes on the upcoming Love Fullerton day?
#32 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 4:23 pm
I’ll make it easy for you Joe. Name five phony churches in town and tell me your opinion of congregants who attend them. Tell us your opinion of volunteers who choose to participate in Love Fullerton. Pretty straightforward question that don’t require a rant to answer.

You and Barry really did a fine job tonight. Thank you for your dedication to the community.
#36 by Anonymous on March 7, 2016 - 5:03 am
What does this have to do with the library being sold? Why are you trying to corner Joe on his allegations? Has he not been explicit enough for you?
I suspect that you are connected to Joe Felz or city hall in some manner. Most people are keenly aware of the dealings of these churches and that is why most people don’t go to church anymore. Joe is doing what any person concerned for the well being of the community would do, that is to challenge the status quo and put the issues out there.
I think you are a jealous fool who is deeply connected with bad people. Why don’t you tell us who you are. Just listen to yourself frothing at the mouth demanding that he answer your riduculous question. Stick to the issue here which is the sale of the property at a ridiculous price and only to one buyer. That must be stopped.
#37 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 5:10 pm
What non-phony church do you attend?
#38 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 5:38 pm
Yeah sure!
There are thousands of residents of Fullerton who want to be packed into the city like sardines, and enjoying the gridlocked traffic that comes with it.
I’m sure there are thousands of residents who are all lining up behind Larry Bennett and the rest of his ilk who plan to profit from the unbridled growth you speak of.

I could see Joe and Barry saying that about the homeless too. comical at best. Homelessness is a disaster in this country and is increasing by the day. It will only get worse. With the Prop 47 laws now, I’ve noticed that the drug addicts get absolutely no help anymore. They used to at least get help when they were locked up for 30 days or 60 days. Some found that time to get sober and get help in jail. Now with no jail time at all in this State, they have no chance to ever get sober. Everyone just gets a ticket now and never goes to jail. This state is a total disaster right now with the law changes and is getting worse by the day.
#43 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 9:52 am
Your post says that the hacks that the city council has appointed to the planning commission, are going to “determine what’s best for the citizens”.
You know this isn’t a nanny city right? We don’t need people like Larry Bennett, “MR. Anti-Recall”, and “MR. I Never Met a Public Employee Union yet I wouldn’t sell my soul to” determining what’s best for the residents of Fullerton
#44 by Joe Imbriano on March 1, 2016 - 10:21 am
Larry Bennett is a total establishment hack. Look for the establishment to roll him out with all the other circus clowns soon.
#45 by Reality Is..... on March 1, 2016 - 9:31 am
I’m waiting for Joe to now accuse the Foundation of being bought out and part of the political process and they are all corrupt too! Joe? Since you didn’t know the facts about the foundation, do you know who the foundation even is? Note to you. Talk to Travis about opening your mouth too soon and ruining your political career before you even get your feet wet.
#46 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 10:16 am
Why do you think Joe has anything to do with Travis or Tony B or even Bruce? Joe is not part of that clique. He is his own man.
#47 by ??? on March 1, 2016 - 10:31 am
Joe is his own man alright! Not that I was a fan of Tony’s blog, but at least Tony put his money where his mouth was. And Tony knew how to play politics and had the money to fund entire campaigns and rally support. Joe can’t hold a candle to Tony or Bruce … or to any current council member for that matter and will be lucky to raise enough money to buy a single campaign sign. Joe has insulted virtually every group in this city .. church goers, women, the business community, supporters of public safety and God knows who else. Not very good strategy when running for office

Your “money talks in Fullerton” beat down is actually making a really good case as to why Fullerton residents like Joe Imbriano should run for city council.
Don’t you think that those public employees unions expect payback from the current council majority that they supported in the last election?
#49 by Barry Levinson on March 2, 2016 - 11:37 am
Absolutely, Fullerton Lover you are correct that employee unions expect payback of their support and donations.
I had to suppress a laugh when Council member Chaffee said that he is not running for office but is still for the firefighters agreement. He did not talk about union support for his last campaign.
Chaffee was also quick to accuse Council member Sebourn of not telling the truth when he said the council set a much to generous starting point for this round of negotiations with all the city unions. I believe that Council member Sebourn was indeed being forthright in those comments.
These were the arguments by Fitzgerald, Flory and Chaffee. The firefighters do a good job and we need them for our safety. They also commented that if we did not pay them they would go elsewhere. Readers do you know how many thousands of qualified applicants the City of Los Angeles had the last time they had a few openings in their Fire Department. Mayor Fitzgerald stated that it was easy to be against this agreement. I want to remind Ms. Fitzgerald it is much easier to be for it because as you well know the unions are one of the most powerful special interests throughout all of California. As a consultant/PR/lobbyist Mayor Fitzgerald you know this much better than most people.

Barry,
I was watching the city council meeting last night, and couldn’t believe the “off with their heads” tone she snapped at both you and Mr. Imbriano, after you both had delivered intelligent and thoughtful remarks about preserving the park and library for our children to enjoy.
I suggest going to the 49 minute mark and listen to the way the Queen of Mean treats Mr. Levinson and Mr. Imbriano immediately after they finish their public comments.
Then watch how she treats the woman who follows Mr, Imbriano, who heaped loads of praise towards Ms. Fitzgerald.
VERY telling behavior and DEFINITELY not very Christian or Christ like.

There’s no possible way Joe and Barry’s persistent behaviors and regular, childish insults of the city council could color their reactions…

Why are you rationalizing bad behavior?
I guess a better question, is why doesn’t the city council ever respond to either Joe or Barry when they ask a legitimate question outside of public comments?
I think most people would get frustrated if you continually ignore their legitimate concerns about the city in which they’re families reside.
Especially when the people that are ignoring them or being rude to them are actually being compensated to listen to ALL Fullerton residents… not just the ones that they agree with.
Is there some sort of behavior standard that needs to be met before you think they’ll listen to Joe or Barry’s remarks?
I don’t.

Fitzgerald is a very piss poor leader who has fooled many fools. The two of you must keep prodding these clucks until they shape up or ship out.

You expect respect when all you do is insult our respected leaders?
#56 by Anonymous on March 3, 2016 - 1:12 pm
These so called ‘leaders’ are nothing but self serving figureheads, only interested in themselves.
If truth is insulting so be it.

Please come to any council meeting and witness how disrespectful and mean Mayor Fitzgerald is to anyone who dares to have a different opinion than her, no matter how nicely it is presented before council. Her sour facial expressions during these moments are legendary. At these moments, it truly gives the audience a chance to glimpse at her true self.
Also, when was the last time anyone on that dais spoke out about the obvious legitimate concerns about Mayor Fitzgerald’s built in CONFLICT OF INTEREST with her employment as Vice President of Curt Pringle and Associates. How many people do you know get hired by a company at the Vice President level to start? The silence about her employment on the dais is extremely troubling to me. Why would Whitaker, Sebourn, Flory and Chaffee remain silent on this very important issue? Why won’t she disclose her client list? Does it include current or future companies that will do business with the City of Fullerton?
Finally, does any rationale human being think it was a coincidence that someone who has had the same public relations/government consulting business for over a decade only gets hired by Mr. Pringle after she is elected to the Fullerton City Council. She obviously became more valuable to Mr. Pringle as soon as she became a Fullerton City Council. Why do you think that is? Is it because she is so honest and only votes for the good of the people or is it something else? It is good to be the king and queen of government/special interest influence. I hear it pays extremely well.

She has more slime on her than an agar farm.

…I guess a better question for us watchdogs is why does our city need to sell the land for the proposed library on Bastanchury, and the existing one at the Hunt?

To pay for all the raises, and out of control retirement and benefit costs for the greedy police, fire and other city employees that the city doesn’t have the money for. Enough is enough and we aim to change that.

Yea and you said 5 years ago the city wouldn’t be functioning today and completely broke and bankrupt. Yet they now have reserves and are thriving. You just want money elsewhere and want the lowest paid and benefited police and fire force in the nation. Your dreams will never come true.

I saw Reality Is following Joe Imbriano at the Fullerton City Council meeting. I believe that this is him at 52:25 into the tape I’ve provided below, and immediately follows Joe Imbriano up to the podium during the public comments portion of the meeting!
