    This law is not about measles at all. California Department of Health data show that students have high vaccination rates for measles. Students are not spreading measles. The CDC website clearly states that outbreaks have resulted from measles being brought into the country from overseas (generally by unvaccinated ADULTS). If our health authorities were serious about stopping measles they would require vaccination of travelers from countries with active outbreaks. Instead we have a law proposed that will force higher rates of vaccination against Hep B and “any other vaccinations deemed necessary by the department”, i.e. HPV and other experimental vaccines in the pipeline. The number one reason why California children are considered “not fully vaccinated” is because their parents refused the Hep B vaccine. Of course, you can’t really rally up a great deal of outrage over that since the kids aren’t at risk of catching Hep B until they start injecting drugs or engaging in sexual activity. So the industry benefits from a measles scare to force more Hep B on kids. It will wane before they are at risk http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15565627
