COMMENTARY BY BARRY LEVINSON
Larry continues to dig a deeper and deeper hole for himself with his arrogant and contemptuous comments toward the good citizens of Fullerton. He in particular called out the online site called NextDoor, which is a site dedicated to connecting people in the same or adjoining neighborhoods.
He also made a point in support of this development that also showed his lack of objectivity. According to Commissioner Bennett, the fact that the owner of the property wants to sell to Red Oak is evidence that it is a good project. Think about that statement. Mr. Bennett apparently has been spinning the facts for so long that he does not even realize when he makes comments that on its face defies any common sense.
Of course the owner of the land wants his sale to be consummated. But to use that fact as justification that it is a good deal for the community is beyond the pale.
This man, LARRY BENNETT wants to be your next city council member.
Tell LARRY BENNETT on November 8th, that before we would consider giving him our vote, he first has to demonstrate that he actually represents us and not all the special interests.
P.S. I noticed yesterday that two large banners for Larry Bennett for Fullerton City Council were on the fencing in front of the closed Fullerton Internal Medicine building, the site where Melia Homes wants to build all those townhomes.
Since that issue can and probably will come up for a vote again to the Planning Commission, it seems those banners could create at least the appearance of a conflict of interest.
Question: Do we need another council member who seems to favor the special interests over the good people of Fullerton?
I REPORT, YOU DECIDE.

if the police and fire unions are such great organizations, then why Danny Boy do they spend the vast majority of their money protecting their pay and benefits and not on helping the community that pays them so, so generously? It sounds pretty selfish to me. I have seen the FPOA questionnaire for candidates for Fullerton City Council. Almost all questions are concerned not with the health, safety and ecumenic well being of the community but rather protecting their selfish, self-centered interests. The FPOA is all about the money, benefits and protecting all cops even the worst among them.

Fire & police exist to pay their salaries, not in service to the public. They are an end in themselves.

Of course they are. It’s a never ending task to keep politicians from taking their pay and benefits. It’s also a never ending task keeping politics out of policing. Pobar is there for a reason. If it was up to politicians they would hang cops for fun just to satisfy a few. So yes someone has to look after the cops. It’s their unions. They do a good job.

Of course you see that. That’s their main focus. Have you seen how much the unions donate to the charitable organizations in Fullerton each year? Or you don’t care? They support all kinds of charitable functions and groups. What else do you want the unions to do? The police and fire are deeply involved in community functions on duty daily. The unions are off duty and they do plenty. But you don’t care about that. Pull the union tax returns.
