Mayor Fitzgerald along with the council majority have willfully put the city into millions of dollars of debt (current $2.8 million dollar deficit) and yet they want to keep on giving to their special interest buddies nonstop!
College Town Specific Plan,
Downtown Core and Corridor Specific Plan (DCCSP),
Hunt Branch Library proposed sale
They are hoping all will soon pass.
Need more proof of the intentions of our city council and city manager. Here is the Library Board of Trustees Agenda for February 25, 2016. Under Regular Business, Item No. 2 it states the following: Hunt Branch Future – Action Requested. That was the opaque way this city attempted to get the recommended approval for the sale of the Hunt Branch Library to come to council without anyone from the community being any the wiser. According to Jane Rands, Chris Meyer retired City Manager,
made a motion to recommend selling the property because of its hard to find location. In addition, Joe Felz suggested that the Hunt Branch Library and property should be sold to the Grace Ministries as a sole source transaction. The same city manager that wants this city council to give him total control over high-rise developments throughout most of Fullerton, wants to sole source the sale of Hunt Library. No surprise there, just the same old undemocratic, I want to be Emperor Joe. But last night at Fullerton City Council, the Emperor had no clothes but the same familiar brooding evil stare.
He was so shaken by my remarks that he even responded to me. He said that he did recommend the sole source sale to Grace Ministries because they came to him showing interest in buying the property and with the sale we could keep the building as a Historical Structure. He then stated that the whole explanation was way to complicated to go into at council. Really Joe, someone who has the floor for as long as he wants says he can’t go into the whole explanation for his underhanded, crony capitalism, neighborhood and taxpayer-screwing idea! You had all the time in the world Mr. Felz but you got caught with your pants down. Our Fullerton Emperor indeed has no clothes.
The city provided the residents of southwest Fullerton no warning, and no community outreach. They wanted to get this action item done as quickly and as quietly as possible. Only a city that has total contempt for its residents would attempt to pull off such a secretive end around to get their way.
The city council just gave the Police a 6% annual raise and the Firefighters a 9% raise over the next two years costing the taxpayers multi-millions of dollars but they say they do not have the money to keep the library open or apparently to even keep the property.
The following is what Joe Felz and our City Council is telling the good people of Fullerton.
- Hunt Branch Library and Park No,
- Decent Roads No,
- Decent Water and Sewer Pipes No,
- Entrance to 57 freeway from Nutwood Avenue expendable (i.e. let the commuters eat cake on the grass esplanade formerly Nutwood Avenue).
But they are in favor of the following:
- Much more traffic and congestion,
- Much more air pollution,
- Many more 8 story high-rises throughout the city, and
- Much more water rationing for the existing city residents as the size of the city grows tremendously.
This is the sad legacy of our City Council and City Manager would like to leave to the residents of Fullerton as Joe Felz retires with his approximately 200,000 dollar pension and Mayor Fitzgerald gets rewarded generously by Mr. Pringle for bringing home the bacon.
I report, you decide.

Having Royce and Nelson supporting both Fitzgerald and Whitaker makes it difficult/uncomfortable I suspect for Whitaker to freely criticize unelected Mayor Fitzgerald. However, without defeating Ms. Fitzgerald in the next election it will be next to impossible for Mr. Whitaker to have majority support on the council. For that reason alone, you would think that a smart man like Mr. Whitaker would be exposing Ms. Fitzgerald for the big government liberal she truly confirms she is with each and every vote. Is his failure to criticize Ms. Fitzgerald a price he has to pay for both Royce’s and Nelson’s support of his candidacy? If so, I believe it is a price the people of Fullerton can ill afford. At this point in time in Fullerton we can’t afford any elected official putting his/her self-interest in front of the interests of the people. Can you imagine how much better off our country would be if our politicians all lived by this Motto? I will either do what is right or I will step aside?

Where are you getting your information and besides, Ed Royce supports many candidates? Who wouldn’t want his endorsement? Joe is just jealous because no one is supporting him. He is just a sore loser who is just a nobody.

Amen to that!
And most advocates of small government that I know – including at least one on the city council – believe government should not own vast amounts of land and property. For people like Levinson and Imbriano, it’s more about pure hatred for some individuals than what makes sense for the good people of Fullerton.

Keeping a public library to serve the community is not owning vast amounts of land. Does small government advocates also believe that selling valuable buildings and property should be done sole source rather than by competitive bid? Sole source bid, especially in this case is another example of crony capitalism and corruption. With a competitive bidding process, the citizens of Fullerton are guaranteed to get full fair market value for the property. The fact that our City Manager was promoting a sole source bid to a specific buyer demonstrates clearly a lack of fiduciary responsibility on his part. An honest council would be looking to replace him for such actions.
From my vantage point the only thing Joe and Barry do not like is corruption, crony capitalism, and phony/dishonest politicians. Those that practice the above are the ones who do not care about the people of Fullerton.
Joe and Barry are speaking out for the people of Fullerton. Trying to put in motion the sale of a library, sole source no less, in as secretive a process as possible is demonstrating both contempt and arrogance toward the people of Fullerton. Anyone who supports such action is also supporting a corrupt government in action.

If you honestly believe that the Joe has the best interest of the people of Fullerton at heart, you are profoundly mistaken. The man embraces more conspiracy theories than the JFK assassination, reveres a lunatic pastor who prays for the death of anyone he doesn’t like, takes photos and video of every human in his path and runs a site that that is essentially a forum for cyber bullying. Yup! I’m sure the majority of Fullerton voters would love to see this man in a position of leadership.

A real patriot is someone who loves their country enough to speak up when they see something that needs to be changed; not someone who blindly assumes that their government knows best and is always right no matter what.

Agreed!
And that said, a real patriot is NOT a conspiracy theory wacko who believes the government controls the weather and injects cancer causing agents into vaccines.

Would you have believed me in 1984, if I told you that our own United States Air Force pilots and planes were being used by our own government to ferry tons of cocaine into America’s inner cities, in exchange for arms for the Contras would you have believed me?
However now we know all of that to be entirely true, thanks to the Iran/Contra hearings that were conducted years later by Senator John Kerry’s committee.

Just because some conspiracies exist does not mean all do.
The world isn’t flat, either.

According to those who attack this site with nothing to back them up, telling the truth means you are a hater but lying 24/7 makes you a loyal subject of City Government.
Can anybody imagine creating the Declaration of Independence, our Bill of Rights and the entire U.S. Constitution with the current bunch of self-serving, self-absorbed, dishonest, phony politicians that overwhelmingly currently represent the good people of Fullerton, California and the United States? They were for truth and for We the People not We the Privileged elected class. I guess our Forefathers are also haters as well according to the 2 people who are bashing this site 24/7.
