Why is this so?  The simple answer is because our Fullerton City Government is corrupt.

You see the council is playing a game.  In one of the examples above, the game player was Bruce Whitaker bemoaning that he will not vote for a Grant application without the Grant application available to review.  We found out that it not only was not provided for review but that it did not even exist yet.  That however, is not the cause of the problem Fullertonians that is a symptom.  Does Bruce Whitaker ask for or provide a solution for the problem he so noted, so that agenda items will never again be presented without the necessary basic information to make a decision?

games people play when they dress up for work

Surely that is exactly what an honest council member would certainly do.  Bruce Whitaker did not have to come up with a solution because Zonya Townsend, his current appointee to the Library Board of Trustees and myself his former Parks and Recreation Committee member, for almost 6 years gave him the solution on a silver platter at the very next Fullerton Council meeting.

Normally one would expect an honest council member, who wants to make a positive difference to not only point out the symptom but also offer solutions.  Like I said above, we handed him an easy and very effective solution and what did we get from Whitaker but more silence.  He huffs and he puffs and he lets the problems persist, he actually allows them to continue to flourish.  Yet he thought he got exactly what he wanted from all of this and that was to make political points with the electorate.  That is exactly what he got until I uncovered his less than honorable game.

More than a year ago, I mentioned that I believed that if anyone chose 5 people at random from the street or from the telephone directory, those five people would be an improvement, probably a huge improvement over the current people on our Fullerton City Council

At the time I was saying that partially in jest.  Now I truly believe that the odds of improving our governance by using such a haphazard and random method would in fact be very great indeed.

Why do I believe this?  Simply because I do not think it is possible to do worse than our current group of selfish, special interest devoted council members.

Why do I continue to point out these incredible inconsistencies with our Council members?  I believe that if enough people knew the truth that we could start to have good government again here in the very corrupt city of Fullerton.

The phony elite politicians and their media supporters mocked the idea that any Republican let alone Donald Trump could defeat Hillary Clinton.  In newspaper and mainstream TV “News” Shows they laughed at the idea of Trump becoming our 45th President.

Well one day real soon our current disingenuous council members will be handed the same stunning defeat, maybe as soon as 2018.

I report, you decide.

Liary Bennett identifies himself as a financial planner. This is key for SEVERAL reasons.

One important fact is that the 3 percent at 50 pension scam is known to be unsustainable, a complete disaster for taxpayers and is rife with abuse (spiking etc)

The second fact is that Liary Bennett ran the campaigns for the people who voted this disaster in and put it in place for the residents of Fullerton to pay for for the rest of their lives and their children’s lives,

The third fact is that he actually ran the campaign defending our attempts to get rid of the council members that rammed this reckless and other reckless deals through.

It is one thing to be a Bankhead and say, well they told me it was a good idea, so I voted for it. It is inexcusable, however when you are a financial planner like Liary who holds himself out to be an expert and having gone along with it by supporting and working to elect the architects of this monstrosity.

Then it gets a lot worse when you know, as a financial planner, what was voted in was a disaster for Fullerton and attempt to thwart the will of the voters by defending the cabal that gave us the Kelly Thomas murderers and the fiscal cliff as he ran the campaign to keep them in power (running the anti recall campaign)

It gets dicier when you hitch your horse and wagon to the tail of an Agenda 21 S.C.A.G supporting union hack Pringle lobbyist.

It is totally unforgivable now because Liary, the very person instrumental in our financial demise was trying to run ON A PLATFORM OF SOLVING THIS PROBLEM. How much campaign money did Liary take from the council members that voted for the 3 at 50 and how much campaign money did he take from the police and fire unions?

How much fun is it running around trying to wreck our town and lying while spending other peoples money desperately trying to to slither into office? It is not nearly as much fun as me spending my own money and telling the truth. You ought to try it some time.It is very fulfilling.

If that is what a boy scout leader calls integrity vision and leadership then even the strip club roofs are too good for your signs Liary. Go take them down. I am sure the frat president is proud of this. By the way, what is his email?

Looks like its gonna be me and you in 2018 neighbor.

Great points about Bennett. Looks like the Anti Trumpers ran him off with the Latino voting block. It came out in full force. Silva is just another empty suit. Wouldn’t have mattered-Bennett or Silva-either way, the unions and the developers win, we lose. Would have been real nice to have seen Imbriano and Rands get in. Oh well.

When a crime is committed in a police officer’s presence or the officer has probable cause to believe that certain misdemeanors or any felony was committed that the officer did not see happen an officer may arrest a suspect on the spot without an arrest warrant. The officer will later submit a charging/warrant request to the Prosecuting Attorney, suggesting potential charges to be authorized.

Remember Tuesday night when direct eyewitness testimony, coupled with a department memorandum, officer statements and physical evidence all pointed to an arrestable offense for our city manager? What did Bruce do when presented with his first opportunity after the election to do the right thing? He huffed and puffed but instead of recommending discipline or termination of the officers that broke several layers of protocol, and demanding that the officer present in chambers instruct the acting watch commander to summon officers to go to Joe Felz’s house and arrest him for the crimes he committed, Bruce went along with the giant ruse orchestrated by the city attorney. You see by the city attorney by turning this whole thing into a criminal investigation with no charges filed have effectively put the lid on the whole thing, shrouding it all in secrecy, locking it all down, sealing the facts surrounding this cover up and this obstruction of justice party. Bruce knows this and is a willing participant in just another episode of Fullerton Kabuki theater. If you were not watching closely on Tuesday night, once again he sells Fullerton down the river for another four years in exchange for the free meals and the proverbial 30 political self preservation commemorative silver coins stamped with his face on them.

    • #4 by Danny Boy on November 20, 2016 - 11:23 pm

Good effort here Joey but you are way off when it comes to DUI. There isn’t a citizen’s arrest for DUI and all that’s needed from a witness is to put the driver behind the wheel. After that, it’s all on the investigating officer to determine if drunk or not through the use of field level FST’s. One of the FST’s that CAN be utilized is the PAS device, but it’s not required. Most DUI trained officers can tell the level from other FST’s and/or the use of the nystagmus test. They can let the person go at the scene if they feel the driver isn’t over .08 or get them a ride. The blood breath at the station is after the arrest to determine the actual blood alcohol level.

So no officer is going to leave the council to arrest Joe for DUI or hit and run at that point. The DUI is done for sure. IF the DUI thinks 175 feet after a crash is running, he will file. It won’t hold up in trial though.

Joe is just going to retire and leave Fullerton in the wind, leaving his legacy to his hand picked replacement.

There was a long article the other day in the LA Times discussing the out of control pensions in El Monte.

Their pensions eat up 28% of the general fund dollars. They also had a supplemental pension fund that is costing homeowners an average $663 in property taxes for the express purpose to fund pension. The city manager who was in that position for only 3 short years retired with a 250,000 a year pension with cost of living adjustments and free health care coverage. That is simply outrageous.

I have to laugh when a police officer calls me anti-police. It is the other way around. Police officers are anti-taxpayer and working against the best interests of its citizens.

    • #11 by Fullerton, a dying carcass on January 3, 2017 - 7:52 am

The police & fire departments, city employees are more taxpayer leaches than civil servants.

The taxpayers exist to support the unsustainable. They don’t serve us, we serve them.

Given, the facts and unsustainable numbers, this does not deter them for asking for more money, picking the last remaining meat from the dying carcass.

Not limited to Fullerton, of course.

    • #12 by Danny Boy on January 3, 2017 - 10:34 am

El Monte isn’t anything close to Fullerton and you know it. Stop trying to make them look the same Barry.

      • #13 by Barry Levinson on January 4, 2017 - 12:25 pm

Danny Boy prove your statement sir?

In Fullerton today sir, the taxpayers spend over 50% of every police and firemen’s salary on pension costs alone. This has risen from around 30 to 35% percent in the last 5 to 10 years!!. The pension percentage is due to rise to 60% in the next few years. Add on healthcare, sick leave, vacations, etc. and the benefits will soon cost taxpayers well over 80% of their salary costs. The average Fullerton police and fireman’s benefit package is substantially more than what the average worker gets for salary and benefits in California.

El Monte is one of the worst abusers in the state but almost every Ca. city abuses the taxpayers when it comes to city employee and especially police and fire pay and benefits.

        • #14 by anonymous on January 5, 2017 - 4:55 pm

It doesn’t matter what % taxpayers pay for pensions, Danny Boy is on this site to support it.

Fullerton cancels 2 council meetings while the city manager gets away with a dui. What a bunch of douche bags that run our city. 2 meetings cancelled? Why? Fire these people already. Crime is out of control and police do nothing.

  9. #17 by Barry Levinson on January 4, 2017 - 2:15 pm

The city council all play their fake roles. It is pure fiction until the time comes for them to vote for more employee raises and benefits as well as doing the bidding of the special interest developers blessed by the UNELECTED S.C.A.G dictators. Every time the city comes up with substantially more money it is almost never for the benefit of the Fullerton citizens but rather a few special interests that feed the troughs of our council members come payback time or should I say election time.

Each and every council member is a total phony, continuing to throw its citizens under the bus for their own self-interests. I bring up a 4 to five million dollar boondoggle concerning the Fullerton Golf Course to be continued over the next decade and not one council member had a question for me or a simple concern for the Fullerton taxpayer.

The biggest phony, Bruce Whitaker did however remove me from my Park and Recreation position last May and has still not replaced me on that board. Wait and see that he adds, Sean Paden, or David Curlee or J. Ferguson. Bruce you are one big incredible disgrace and waste of space on the dais! I hope you get everything you deserve sir, which is a political career that began and ends on the city council dais!! Based on your performance sir the $700 or $750 a month you get from the city is a colossal waste of our tax dollars. What has the taxpayers received for the payout of 60K over the course of your 6 years serving on our council? Fireworks, more high density development, S.C.A.G. planner Ma’Ayn Johnson, phony redistricting map favoring only the council and their developer friends and of course ignoring five million dollar problems but speaking out about an audit committee. I am an auditor sir, who used those skills to uncover issues for which you responded with my dismissal. What a total bag of wind you are sir!

The six years of Whitaker’s career is highlighted by one constant phony whine…. I can’t get anything accomplished because I am only one person!!….Blah, blah, blah blah.
Thanks to the voters we now get to hear that phony and very weak complaint for the next four years!

    • #18 by Anonymous on January 4, 2017 - 11:36 am

Someone extremely bright once said that if you want to know the level of corruption in your city government, look at the condition of the city’s roads and other infrastructures.

On that basis, the City of Fullerton must be one of the most corrupt city’s in all of the United States.

  13. #22 by Anonymous on January 7, 2017 - 9:49 am

I have to agree with Barry. No one paying attention to Fullerton politics can argue with the points raised on this blog. Whitaker is just another politician. I think it is probably a good time to sell and get out while the market is still up. With all the crime, homelessness and traffic, time to say goodbye.

  14. #23 by Anonymous on January 9, 2017 - 9:47 am

The city is going to have some huge projects come up real soon. They are going to add another 10,000 units in the next four years. Everything is in place, both on the planning commission and on the council. The city will be buying up large swaths of commercial property and transform them into high rise housing in all of the underperforming commercial areas.

  15. #24 by Barry Levinson on January 9, 2017 - 4:05 pm

After another rain and the streets in my neighborhood are a complete disaster….every few feet another bigger and deeper pothole has surfaced. It is a disgrace! Every elected City of Fullerton council member past and present deserves our scorn!

I say past and present for these roads have been a disaster in the making based on city neglect for decades!! Another 4 or 5 million dollars in the coffers over the next 15 to 20 years would sure be nice. Oh yeah, I came up with that savings based on the Fullerton Golf Course debacle and every one of our princes and princesses also known as our council members totally ignored the problem! Happy New Year to one of the most corrupt city governments in all of California.

P.S. How did you like how our two top officials…City Manager and Police Chief went out with a flurry of corruption. Our Police Chief chooses not to enforce the law and our city manager leaving the scene of an accident with damages. Yes and of course our City Attorney will bless it all very shortly you can be sure.

What does our city council do but to thank these two thugs for their service. Only in one of the most corrupt city’s in California doe this happen!

    What a city government!

I have one question for you and I’m using this format so you don’t dismiss me like you have in the last few council meetings. Give me one financially positive thing you’ve done for the city of Fullerton that didn’t line your pockets, cost taxpayers money or help out the other sack of dicks that sit next to you? You have my email address and phone number. I don’t think you’ll respond although I’m certain you frequent this site often due to your personality type. The political noose that you have placed around your neck and those necks of the scum you sit with is getting tighter. The longer you think you’re safe in your seat, the more maniacal my determination becomes.

    • #30 by Barry Levinson on June 30, 2017 - 4:54 pm

Jeff Moeller, Bruce Whitaker has done nothing for Fullerton except to allow fireworks to be sold for 4 days every year. But instead of doing something positive, the only thing he has done is fire me I believe in part because I found out that the City of Fullerton voluntarily changed the agreement with the American Golf Corporation which will cost the taxpayers of Fullerton 4 to 5 million dollars over 20 year period. He never discussed it with me or brought it up for discussion at any city council meeting. He tried to bury me along with this troubling finding I brought forward to the City Council.

      What a guy?

      • #31 by Anonymous on June 30, 2017 - 8:31 pm

No, firing you is definitely one of the positive things he’s done. It was a mistake appointing you in the first place.

  19. #32 by Anonymous on April 9, 2017 - 10:45 am

Bruce won’t answer anyone. He is nothing but a huge phony, self serving, political pig at the trough with several pensions going at the same time. He lives off of big government. He hasn’t had a real job for over a decade.

  20. #33 by Tony's Phonies on June 30, 2017 - 10:17 am

We got three of Tony’s Phonies on the current Fullerton City Council:

    Mayor Bruce Whitaker
    Council member Greg Sebourn and
    Council member Jennifer Fitzgerald

We have another one of Tony’s Phonies on the OC Board of Supervisors…namely Shawn Nelson.

Do not be fooled about the current negative attention on the FFFF blog concerning Jennifer Fitzgerald. Tony Bushala is a Machiavellian puppeteer. The FFFF did almost nothing to stop her election in both 2012 and 2016. One mildly negative article in 2012 and then nothing after that until after Fitzgerald is reelected in 2016. Why give her a virtual pass for over 4 years? Now that we are stuck with her for another 3 and one-half years, the FFFF now criticizes her. Do not be fooled by Tony and Tony’s Phonies. Bushala is the king of crony capitalism in Fullerton. His only involvement in the 2016 election cycle was to spend a lot of money putting out negative signs about Democrat Kang. That helped pave the way for the election of Democrat Josh Newman to the California Senate. So if you hate the gas tax increases you can thank Tony Bushala, Travis Kiger and his Tony’s Phonies for it.

  21. #34 by Anonymous on June 30, 2017 - 3:03 pm

Tony’s Phonies after your above comment I went back to look at pre-election 2016 posts about Jennifer Fitzgerald. My investigation completely supports your statement that the FFFF gave Jennifer Fitzgerald a pass. Is that why the FFFF did not come back online until right after the 2016 election wherein Jennifer Fitzgerald and Bruce Whitaker were up for reelection? What I greatly appreciate about the fullertoninformer.com website is that there is a real name attached to every single article ever posted on this site. The FFFF blog can’t say the same thing unfortunately for them and their credibility.

It is so so sad that those who blindly defend the Fullerton government establishment have nothing of substance to support their baseless claims. People with decency and integrity do not slander people with baseless insults and depraved speech but the supporters of the Fullerton government establishment know only how to do just that type of childish attacks.

I challenge any and all of the Fullerton government establishment name callers to provide a factual list as to why you continually attack Joe and Barry. Please try to discredit with facts any one of their posts. You can’t because they provide the facts and the truth, while you can only defame.

Now the good people of Fullerton can sit back and confirm that those that attack Joe and Barry have nothing of substance to support their ugly defamations.
