Beloved Polly’s Pies could still close to make way for massive highrise Section 8 housing project

The battle is not over regarding this property. The Register article only shows that this article that blew the lid off of this dirty deal has swayed the owners into perhaps doing what is right for the community instead of ruining Raymond Hills.

Build it and they will come ladies and gentlemen and believe they will come. Low income housing is headed to Raymond Hills. Mayor Fitzgerald says development plans don’t exist for this location but yet a public hearing regarding rezoning this location to do just that made the paper.

Sources to the Fullerton Informer indicate that the new owner of the property on Chapman and Raymond may have prevailed against the current tenants in vacating their leases and the property is eventually slated to become a massive high rise development with a major component of low income housing. Welcome your new neighbors with open arms ladies and gentlemen and there will be lots of them. Here is a slide from last night’s planning commission hearing and you will notice the big pinkish rectangle on the right. Patti’s cakes and Polly’s are toast folks.

DSC00305

For years this center’s occupants were not allowed to expand their businesses, potential new additional tenants were turned away and all while this place was intentionally run into the ground for the moment that they are still waiting for. Last night the planning commission unveiled that moment again after it was delayed two years ago by the pressure we applied to the city council who was meeting in the library room with no live coverage.-

We were out in front of this mess years ago and they are trying to resurrect this scam again. Watch Jennifer Fitzgerald tell us no plans exist as plans exist, as she calls me a liar and insults all your intelligence with the zoning change map right in front of your eyes.

Yet when asked to remove this location from the Revised DCCSP, she doubles down.

Yes the plans to rezone the property are already written, you are looking at them in the photo above, the tenants are already being run out and the goal will be high density section 8 housing.

Nelson operatives Fitzgerald and her running mate phony conservative Larry Bennett that ran the anti recall campaign a few years back and was on the police union ticket last time around is in on this scam too. Watch as he is called on out his involvement. After all he is on the planning commission and is pro development.

All this is carefully being laid out behind your backs and will go down quickly if the planning commission and council approves the biggest sellout to the developers in Fullerton’s history that our city manager Joe Felz is trying to repackage, THE DCCSP. What you see below will be encompassing 1000’s of acres of Fullerton.

THIS IS THE NEW FACE OF FULLERTON FOLKS RIGHT HERE

The Harbor Gateway-80 units per acre-this is what is coming to Polly’s and a neighborhood near you.

The site at the corner of Chapman and Raymond will could bring up to 500 more housing units which would bring in 50 million in developer fees to the city. That is what is at work here. Here are those who are at work here.

The entire property will be packem’ and stackem’ high rise high density housing just the way the at large appointee that the Vice President of Curt Pringle and associates Jennifer Fitzgerald

moved to appoint, the S.C.A.G. operative on the Fullerton Planning Commission Ms. May an Johnson

DSC00429-300x225

In case you don’t know, these two don’t work for us, they work for the developers and the social engineers and boy do they have plans to transform the entire city into Agenda 21 stackem’ and packem’ high rise housing. We just dodged the College Town deal recently and now they are resurrecting the huge DCCSP plan.

You see the city is out of money because of all of the establishment cronies that have bled us dry for decades with their lavish salaries, pensions, car allowances, medical, dental, vision plans and perks while hiding behind a thin political veneer comprised of a bizarre combination of liberal populism hybridized with phony conservatism that has put the residents to sleep while leaving the city’s infrastructure (roads, sewers, parks, public restrooms) and finances in utter ruin. Folks the trusted names in Fullerton politics have been screwing you all over for decades. Stop going along with them and being their sycophants.

Recently reality didn’t stop the city council from going millions into the red for Police and Fire raises and benefit increases. They have done this because they want their endorsements for the upcoming election and they anticipate getting upwards of 12-15 thousand dollars per unit developed to pay for the out of control city hall gravy train while they put you to work on Love Fullerton day washing police cars, cleaning up school buildings, government buildings and parks that our tax money was supposed to pay for and then putting you to sleep with firework shows, parades, and backpack giveaways. See how they play this game? You sit back and vote for these people that are endorsed by the police and fire unions, you think you are supporting a strong community when in fact, the greed of these factions is sucking the taxpayers dry with selling Fullerton off to development behind your backs as the only way out. I could go on and on. This website documents years of this train of abuses and the inaction and complicity of those who you would never think have a hand in this.

Here is Barry Levinson last night calling attention to huge problems with this proposal.

The only way out of this mess is to vote them out in November. Jennifer Fitzgerald and Jan Flory need to go. I have a vested interest in what is best for our community and I am not popular with the establishment sycophants that want to ruin Fullerton for that very reason.

You can watch Ms. Shanfiel- the chair of the planning commission explain what happened in 2014. This got the ball rolling on the DCCSP mess and the planning commissioners from 2014 appear to be totally incompetent or corrupt.

She admits in no uncertain terms they were given misinformation and a non existent time constraint. You could say they were lied to. It sure appears that way to me. Clink the video below and 10 seconds in, you will not believe what you will hear.

You can watch how the city staff that tried to ram the biggest threat to our quality of life in Fullerton’s history through in 2014. They are either corrupt or incompetent when what they fed this load to the planning commission to get them to vote to pass the DCCSP  which was clearly based on inaccurate information 2 years ago. Looks like they voted to pass the biggest threat to Fullerton’s future without even vetting it, understanding it, and under what appears to be a series of misrepresentations and duress. Read that rubber stamp hacks-listen to this-

And just to remind all of you in the audience on 4-13-16, Kathleen Shanfeild said “…… I wish we would have had more time when we talked about this before…. “

NO KATHLEEN, YOU MEAN WHEN YOU, KATHLEEN ALONG WITH GAMBINO, JOHNSON AND THE GUY THAT HATES THE CARS, MR SILBER, VOTED TO PASS THE DCCSP WHILE PENDERGRAFT MISSED THE MEETING AND NEVER ONCE SAID BOO ABOUT IT-YOU VOTED FOR THIS AND IT PASSED-YOU DID MUCH MORE THAN JUST TALK ABOUT IT, YOU PASSED IT AND YOU ALMOST HANDED THE DESTRUCTION OF FULLERTON UP ON A SILVER PLATTER TO JOE FELZ AND IT ALMOST PASSED THE COUNCIL.

 mmm

I urge you all to take a hard look at what you take for granted right now because it is in jeopardy. We need real leaders, not phonies and ignorant rubber stamp hacks that will allow Fullerton to be sold out to the highest bidder and hoodwink you with dog and pony shows just to get elected like we have now. The plans in the works could add 100,000 more people to Fullerton in the next ten years almost doubling the population as we already struggle to maneuver our cars in traffic in a park poor city with busted up roads and water mains. Enough is enough.

Stay vigilant Fullerton.

I stand up for the residents even when no one is looking folks. Last night was no exception.

Oh you got an email from your enemy. That’s hilarious. Joe attempting to step into city hall where not a single person has even an ounce of like for you. Even if you make it, it will be a tough battle knowing everything you ask for is going to be met with resistance. From fellow council people to the lowest employee emptying trash cans. I’ve seen your emails and your name and picture all over union blogs and union break rooms. They are ready for you. Always have been..

…this letter from a Fullerton police officer who was fired after he tried to speak out about the way that the Fullerton police department is rotten to the core, is an example of why you’ll never hear anything bad from within the Fullerton Police Department.

      From: Ben Lira
      Sent: Friday, July 20, 2012 12:42 PM
      To: jfelz@ci.fullerton.ca.us; City Manager
      Subject: message/information from Benjamin Lira

      Mr. Felz,

My name is Benjamin Lira, and although we’ve never met, I’ve been a nearly 17 year dedicated employee of the Fullerton Police Department. Recent events have left the city, the Police department and it’s employees in turmoil. I’m saddened to think I’ve had anything to do with that.

I apologize for reaching out to you via email but myself and my colleagues have stood quiet long enough. I ask that you PLEASE take the time to read this email and reflect on it’s contents.

If my name doesn’t ring a bell, then let me introduce myself and tell you I am the person who drafted the email to solicit bail funds for Manuel Ramos. I’m not writing you to debate the KT events; they speak for themselves. I’ve said all along that I didn’t condone the actions of the Officers, but Manuel Ramos is my friend and I did it to help a friend. Not only did I try to help a friend I checked with then Acting Chief Hamilton who told me, “I can do whatever I want as long as I do it on my own time.” Employees at the PD were confused because having not seen the video were told by Captain Crum, “that’s what happens when you fight with the Police.” On my own time I drafted an email and distributed via PORAC. I didn’t have any intentions other then to solicit donations through union members. Unfortunately, someone from LAPD put the email on his facebook page, Big City Cops. I do not have any affiliation with BCP nor do I agree with their views.

Since drafting this email I’ve been demoted. After my demotion I was placed on paid leave for a text message I did not send and was distributed by members of the FPD. It’s unfortunate that I and on my own time am held to higher standards then some of the members of the FPD while on duty. Many in the public refer to the “culture of corruption” in the FPD and I’m here to tell you it exists. I’ve resisted long and hard the “culture of corruption” and I can no longer sit back and allow this to ruin the reputation I spent long and hard building with the community, my co-workers and my colleagues in the LE profession. Which was once a childhood dream to become a Police Officer has now become a nightmare.

Up until now I’ve decided to remain silent, mostly at the advice of my attorney’s. I can no longer remain silent and my passion to clean up the Police department and restore its reputation remains stronger then ever. I feel it’s ironic the person now in charge of the Police department, Dan Hughes, has led the way in the culture of corruption and now makes the decisions for the Department. I implore you to please continue reading and know that against my attorney’s wishes I’m reaching out to you to give you information you may find useful.

When I first began my career in 1995 I was eager to make a difference and that difference started in my assignment at the FPD jail. While working in the jail I watched then Senior Officer Dan Hughes slap an inmate 6-8 times in the face. I thought to myself this person doesn’t need to be a Police Officer and never did I ever imagine this person would one day be in charge. The assault was investigated and as a probationary employee and only 19years old I feel as though I was told what to say and not asked what I saw.

During my career I worked up the ranks from Cadet, Sr Cadet, Jailer, Reserve Officer, Police Officer and Corporal. I attended CSUF and obtained my Bachelors degree in hopes of one day promoting. Sadly I was wrong because I soon realized there was a culture at FPD where a group of White Officers would promote and then promote their friends leaving the rest of us on the outside looking in. If you look at the make up of the PD it’s made up of Supervisors, their family members and friends. I know it’s hard to believe but as you continue to read on I hope you see the evidence I show to support my claim.

In my nearly 17 years as an employee of the Fullerton Police Department I have received one citizen complaint and it was at the beginning of my career. I personally think this is impressive because all of my career but 2 years has been spent in patrol because I’ve never been given a chance to prove myself in details, assignment, training, etc. This frustration grew into depression and in 2005 I took a leave of absence. Embarrassed as to how I was feeling I didn’t tell anyone. I did what I had always told people and that’s if your not feeling well then seek counseling, and that’s exactly what I did. Unfortunately, this didn’t meet the mold of the culture at FPD because when I returned to work I had 46 metal hangers intertwined on my locker preventing me from opening it. I reported this, but of course nothing ever happened.

Throughout my career I watched as this Culture of Corruption grew and they became increasingly racist. Mexicans would be referred to as “wetbacks” and African Americans would be referred to as the “N” word. I voiced my displeasure but to no avail. On July 22, 2008 a departmental photo was scheduled and during individual photos a group of Mexican Officers were called, “wetbacks,” “where’s your oranges,””Where’s your Chiclets.” For the first time in my career, while in uniform and not on the scene of a tragic crime, I wanted to cry. I filed a complaint and my frustration grew when the FPD brass deemed my complaint “spirited bantering.” I was mortified and couldn’t understand why this could be. From then on I suffered even more ridicule by colleagues teasing me for making a complaint.

Since this time I’ve continued to suffer discrimination. I’ve reported this and ultimately then Chief Sellers scheduled an independent investigation. RCS investigating and consulting ultimately met with me and the results of this investigation have never been given to me. During this investigation I reported how supervisors would leave early and go drinking downtown. I reported how the supervisors would then have Officers take them home in Police/City vehicles. Ironically these same officers who would give them rides home would begin to get promoted and preferred details in the Department. I reported how then Captain Petropolous would teach at FJC and allow FPD members enroll in his class and never show up and get A’s in the class. Doesn’t sound like much until you consider Officers would use these credits which led to certificates and increase pay.

This investigation went on and I reported a laundry list of incidents which largely alleged supervisors were derelict in their duty. I reported how supervisors would go and teach at FJC academy when they should be working at the PD. I didn’t feel it was fair to the citizens that the watch commander was getting paid to teach at FJC instead of being at the PD, but this was the norm and til this day hasn’t changed.

10 days after this interview I was called in on a Sunday to the Watch Commanders office. I was met by an angry Dan Hughes. Hughes told me I was ordered not to talk about the above mentioned investigation and that someone had filed a complaint against me. I was never given a copy of the complaint, I was never told what the complaint was and a follow up investigation took place. I later learned from the Association that it was Dan Hughes attempt to cover up the interview which in turn led to his promotion to Captain.

The more I look around I can’t help but feel Dan Hughes is the common theme amongst corruption that has occurred. For instance, the city is being sued by Clarke, a citizen who said he was assaulted on St Patrick’s day 2010. All those involved know it was Dan Hughes who initiated this contact and took Clarke down to the ground causing him injuries yet no record of this ever exist. In fact, this arrest was followed by Officer Cary Tong purposely slamming on the brakes and while recorded on DAR you can hear Officer Tong allowing the inmates face to slam on the “cage” three times in the Police car. I think it’s sad and ironic how now the city is being sued but up until now Hughes’ involvement is not known. To me this shows what kind of person he really is. In addition to that during this investigation he had Sgt Chocek secretly/privately go up to each officer involved and promise them lenient discipline in return for not reporting Dan Hughes’ involvement.

These are just my stories and quiet frankly I have several more and so do other members of this department. There’s employees that are afraid to come forward in fear of risking their career like I have. There’s a lot of good employees at the FPD, one being Captain Lorraine Jones. Sir, whether you agree with me or not I ask that you please consider the common goal we have and that’s to clean up the Police Department. It breaks my heart to have to listen to the advice of my attorney’s and prepare for lawsuits because that’s not what I’m about. If you question my intentions please ask my friend, Captain Lorraine Jones. She speaks highly of you and it’s for that reason I’ve chosen to reach out to you.

On May 17 I met with the FBI and reported what I’ve said along with other things. The FBI, like yourself, have the opportunity to make a difference for this city, it’s citizens and it’s employees and I urge you to please consider that. I think at the very minimum I’ve given you some evidence of the misdeeds perpetrated by Dan Hughes and I’m hoping it’s enough to launch an investigation and place him on administrative leave. I hope that if at any point you want to meet with me and or use me to help, that you know I’m committed to you and this city and it’s citizens.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience any of my actions have caused.

      Sincerely,

      Benjamin Lira

Lira was proven to be a liar and simply a disgruntled employee. Personally, I think he had mental issues. More old news that was proven to all be lies.

      Next?

    • #5 by Fullerton Lover on August 14, 2016 - 8:45 am

Oldest tactic in the book is to demonize the messengers of truth like Fullerton police officer Benjamin Lira.

Highly unlikely that a sworn officer of the Fullerton Police department could be on the job for over 15 years, and finally breaks his silence and reveals to the world the corruption, nepotism, and the real “Danny” Hughes, and suddenly he’s deemed a disgruntled employee who’s mentally unstable and everything he says is a complete lie?

Only those not in touch with reality eh Danny Boy?

    • #6 by Danny Boy on August 14, 2016 - 11:19 am

Well. Analyze most cases like this.

They sue right? Civil suits have three directions. One is they are either false or very petty and are resolved to avoid extensive legal fees. Or they have some merit and are settled to the satisfaction of both parties. Or they go to court and a jury decides how factual the claims are, and if someone is liable monetarily for the damages caused.

With that in mind, and the fact you think Lira isn’t a liar. how did his civil case against the city go and how many millions did Lira get for the whistleblowing he did here? That’s always a good gauge for truth.

I mean even Lira admits he’s a nut right? That he had some mental issues during his career? Or did you ignore that part on purpose?

I’ve seen many police officers fall off the edge in my career. They either see where the blame is and they resign and move onto a different job. Or they try to blame the world for their deficiencies in terms of promoting, details, etc. It’s the new era the last 5 years or so. Millennials more than anyone. Blame everyone but the person right there in the mirror.

I think Lira regrets speaking like this in the end. He finally looked in the mirror and saw who was to blame for all of his issues.

Have you looked in the mirror lately?

    • #7 by Fullerton Lover on August 14, 2016 - 2:11 pm

nice story, however don’t you think that it’s REALLY ironic that Officer Ben Lira was the one who exposed the now scandal that the FPD was pulling at the Fullerton Junior College that caused all of the officers who thought they were graduating and were state certified, to lose all of their credits, and almost their jobs, when the scandal was later shown by the state to be true?

      http://www.ocregister.com/articles/state-713281-college-academy.html

p.s. Is the 5 million that the defendants are suing the taxpayers for coming out of the FPD budget?

p.s.s…looks like your little FPD buddy, Cary Tong, is a chip off the old blockhead when it comes to managing his public relations eh?

Actually, Reality Is, Sloppy Joe and now yourself, Danny Boy are the ones who have been proven time and again to have a really hard time with the truth.

It is unfortunate that all three of you are so intertwined with Danny Boy and the FPD. Should we the Fullerton public make the connection that those that are the biggest supporters of the FPD, right or wrong, also are the people that have the hardest time with the truth?

    • #9 by FPD = Fullerton Political Department on August 14, 2016 - 5:16 pm

And Danny Hughes keeps on repeating the same old lie that he does not care about politics. He more than cares about politics because the way he runs the FPD he must live and breath it as Fullerton Police Chief.

    • #10 by Danny Boy on August 15, 2016 - 10:06 am

Police Chiefs are politicians. Sheriff’s are deep in politics but can say and do what they want because no one can fire them. Dream job. Like Sheriff Clarke on TV all the time. He can say and do what he wants without repercussions from BS activists over stupid things. The people vote them in and they can vote them out. So Chief’s have to be more careful. Sissy politicians can fire a Chief just for fun, and then just pay them millions in severance. So yea, I’m a politician to an extent, but I’m more of just a cop. You all sure fought hard to not make me Chief though didn’t you?

    • #11 by Anonymous on August 20, 2016 - 11:37 am

Danny Boy is more honest than the real Dan Hughes, which is not anything to brag about. Why? Because the real Dan Hughes has stated on the record time and again that he does not care at all about politics. He has said that he leaves politics to the politicians. So thank you Danny Boy for helping us prove beyond a shadow of a doubt what a phony hypocrite we have as our Fullerton Police Chief. You see even our Police Chief’s biggest defenders and supporters admit that he is a lying piece of garbage.

Hughes is about to get his golden parachute along with Joe Felz.

    • #13 by Anonymous on August 23, 2016 - 9:35 am

I wonder how much good that golden parachute is going to do in the lake of fire?
