I report, you decide. by BARRY LEVINSON
I report, you decide. By Barry Levinson.
It seems that Mayor Chaffee has a hard time doing anything right lately.
We had a somewhat heated by respectful discussion about an agenda item to approve a declaration passed by the US Congress about 7 years ago concerning the human rights violations by the Japanese Imperial Army during WWII as it related to the 200,000 Korean “Comfort Women” forced into sexual slavery.
Mayor Chaffee gave almost all of the speakers many of whom were either of Korean or Japanese heritages more than the normal 3 minutes to speak before them. It seemed that many of them went over their three minutes by 2, 3 or more minutes easily.
I personally thought it was perfectly okay to give these speakers this additional time. It was obviously a very personal and difficult subject to talk about and each and every speaker presented their opinions with much grace and dignity.
But then came the public comments for all those items not on the agenda. It should have been one of the first pieces of business but Mayor Chaffee moved the WWII issue in front of regular public comments.
As is frequently the case, significant portions of the public comments are critical of one or more members of the council. In this case, no additional time was granted to any of the speakers. Once again, Mayor Chaffee even when he is going to face the voters in November apparently can’t bring himself to conduct the meeting in a fair manner for everyone.
At one point, a speaker asked Mayor Chaffee if he has paid for all the volunteer signs that he gives out to those he believes are worthy of that honor. His answer to the speaker was that it was “none of his business”.
Once again, Mayor Chaffee you find yourself on the wrong side sir. For it was you early on in this program who declared that you were paying for these signs and it would not cost the taxpayer’s a dime.
Now less than a year later you are telling us it is none of our business. It is no wonder that recently our fair city of Fullerton was ranked as one of the snobbiest cities throughout the country. I am now wondering how much Mayor Chaffee had to do with that dubious ranking.

I approached Jane Rands on my own. I got her address from the city website of 2012 candidates. I noticed that she has drought tolerant plants for a front lawn so she does practice what she preaches. If I wasn’t running then I probably vote for her and Sean Paden. Now I have a choice to make.

Ms. Rands, I understand, is a member of the Green Party. That being the case, why is she silent on the Richman Park cell tower vote?
As these cell towers directly impact wildlife, migratory birds and the bee colony collapse, it cannot be ignored.

The Ten Key Values of the Green Party
Originally ratified at the Green Party Convention in Denver, Colorado, June 2000
1. GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY
Every human being deserves a say in the decisions that affect their lives and not be subject to the will of another. Therefore, we will work to increase public participation at every level of government and to ensure that our public representatives are fully accountable to the people who elect them. We will also work to create new types of political organizations which expand the process of participatory democracy by directly including citizens in the decision-making process.
2. SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
All persons should have the rights and opportunity to benefit equally from the resources afforded us by society and the environment. We must consciously confront in ourselves, our organizations, and society at large, barriers such as racism and class oppression, sexism and homophobia, ageism and disability, which act to deny fair treatment and equal justice under the law.
3. ECOLOGICAL WISDOM
Human societies must operate with the understanding that we are part of nature, not separate from nature. We must maintain an ecological balance and live within the ecological and resource limits of our communities and our planet. We support a sustainable society which utilizes resources in such a way that future generations will benefit and not suffer from the practices of our generation. To this end we must practice agriculture which replenishes the soil; move to an energy efficient economy; and live in ways that respect the integrity of natural systems.
4. NON-VIOLENCE
It is essential that we develop effective alternatives to society’s current patterns of violence. We will work to demilitarize, and eliminate weapons of mass destruction, without being naive about the intentions of other governments. We recognize the need for self-defense and the defense of others who are in helpless situations. We promote non-violent methods to oppose practices and policies with which we disagree, and will guide our actions toward lasting personal, community and global peace.
5. DECENTRALIZATION
Centralization of wealth and power contributes to social and economic injustice, environmental destruction, and militarization. Therefore, we support a restructuring of social, political and economic institutions away from a system which is controlled by and mostly benefits the powerful few, to a democratic, less bureaucratic system. Decision-making should, as much as possible, remain at the individual and local level, while assuring that civil rights are protected for all citizens.
6. COMMUNITY-BASED ECONOMICS AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE
We recognize it is essential to create a vibrant and sustainable economic system, one that can create jobs and provide a decent standard of living for all people while maintaining a healthy ecological balance. A successful economic system will offer meaningful work with dignity, while paying a “living wage” which reflects the real value of a person’s work.
Local communities must look to economic development that assures protection of the environment and workers’ rights; broad citizen participation in planning; and enhancement of our “quality of life.” We support independently owned and operated companies which are socially responsible, as well as co-operatives and public enterprises that distribute resources and control to more people through democratic participation.
7. FEMINISM AND GENDER EQUITY
We have inherited a social system based on male domination of politics and economics. We call for the replacement of the cultural ethics of domination and control with more cooperative ways of interacting that respect differences of opinion and gender. Human values such as equity between the sexes, interpersonal responsibility, and honesty must be developed with moral conscience. We should remember that the process that determines our decisions and actions is just as important as achieving the outcome we want.
8. RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY
We believe it is important to value cultural, ethnic, racial, sexual, religious and spiritual diversity, and to promote the development of respectful relationships across these lines.
We believe that the many diverse elements of society should be reflected in our organizations and decision-making bodies, and we support the leadership of people who have been traditionally closed out of leadership roles. We acknowledge and encourage respect for other life forms than our own and the preservation of biodiversity.
9. PERSONAL AND GLOBAL RESPONSIBILITY
We encourage individuals to act to improve their personal well-being and, at the same time, to enhance ecological balance and social harmony. We seek to join with people and organizations around the world to foster peace, economic justice, and the health of the planet.
10. FUTURE FOCUS AND SUSTAINABILITY
Our actions and policies should be motivated by long-term goals. We seek to protect valuable natural resources, safely disposing of or “unmaking” all waste we create, while developing a sustainable economics that does not depend on continual expansion for survival. We must counterbalance the drive for short-term profits by assuring that economic development, new technologies, and fiscal policies are responsible to future generations who will inherit the results of our actions.

Thank you for posting this.
It is quite an eye opener. I had thought that the GP was focussed primarily on the environment.
Bottom line: I look to the US Constitution, “Every issue, every time. No exceptions, no excuses.”

Green party candidates stand for social democracy and ridding elections of corporate and union donations buying candidates that will do their bidding for them.
What’s not to like?

As the Green Party platform states in #3, Ecological Wisdom, I would expect a GP candidate to uphold that principal.
If you understand the affect that the proliferation of wireless radiation is having on all living organisms and if you align yourself to GP principals, you should have no problem speaking up and against another cell tower in Richman Park.
More wireless radiation is the antithesis of sustainability.
Lastly, some of these GP principals are steeped in social engineering concepts which, in my estimation, have done nothing but heighten divisiveness in this country.

By-the-way, disconnects in what candidates say and what their behavior demonstrates is very telling.
#9 by Green Party politicians? on August 24, 2014 - 12:11 pm
Some of the candidates are only interested in advancing popular causes, such as fracking.
If it is not popular or politically correct, they will not take a stand on it. The wireless radiation issue has been termed the “public health disaster of our time.” We can try to ignore it all we want; ignoring it will not change its impact.
Don’t expect politicians to be loyal to their purported Green Party. Sadly, their behavior is just more evidence of politics as usual.

The green party has some great ideals in the platform. However, what does one do with numbers 3 and 9 on that list in light of the evidence of harm that the wireless agenda presents to the planet at large?
With respect to fracking, it is a huge problem. It should be stopped immediately- period. We have a government that grants exemptions to industrial entities for the injection of class 1 carcinogens, acids, and a myriad of other chemicals down a few rungs on the IARC list into the fault lines through rickety, risky, potentially explosive, high pressure pipelines with cut corner casings risking the triggering of seismic upheavals and potentially destroying drinking water aquifers for millions of people, while flushing billions of gallons of fresh water down the drain chasing driblets of black gold. What does that tell you about our regulatory agencies? It tells me that they are a total joke run by insane people who are capable of anything.
They are capable of anything, believe me. You are naive if you don’t believe there exists a scorched earth or eugenicist mindset in these people. They are murderers who are aided by cowardly, devious, and even idiot underlings who allow the grease to remain on the skids of the various nefarious agendas as we suck our thumbs watching Oprah and the ball game. Why wouldn’t they look the other way with wireless? I believe that it is not just looking the other way, but rather a carefully well written plan being carried out with absolute, methodical precision with respect to frequencies, power levels and location of infrastructure deployment all the way down to your sons and daughters laps at school and home.
Now to answer your question, why would certain green party members not address the wireless issue? Well for starters, it is not a popular fight. It is not asbestos, or tobacco. More importantly, however, is that this issue puts you at odds with everyone. Here is a small but local list;
1) City government with local WiFi deployment in public places and city owned buildingfs, as well as cell tower sitings.
2) Local school districts and their lackeys with their reckless forced irradiation of ALL school children down all the way to the kindergarten classes. How could you keep your kids in that environment unless your address is in on denial or coward street or I don’t love my kids lane? Oh I forgot the ” I don’t agree with your assertions” drive. That is a pretty busy street before they decide to permanently move into a house on one of the others.
The information we have presented, if thoroughly examined warrants only one thing-a complete halt to wireless deployment in schools and homes and in public places. There are alternatives to microwaves. Don’t kid yourself. What does a PTA mom, or a parent do with that? Fight Pletka and his inept minions? Pull the kid out? The private schools all have this crap too.
3) Your neighbors and friends because you would never allow your kids to sit with their kids and be exposed to the countless hours a day of wireless exposure from iPads and gaming systems at home. Besides who would want to drink beer or eat bon bons with you if they were always afraid you would bring this up?
4) your employer as you make your living directly or indirectly connected to these wireless companies in a WiFi and wireless environment in the workplace.
5) your spouse or significant other who demands to continue to live in denial of spiritual and scientific reality.
6) your church leaders as their deployment of cell towers on church property, making them the worst neighbors of all, their wireless classrooms in the private schools they run if they even bother to open up and work the other 6 days a week, as well as their silence on this issue is problematic in and of itself.
7) your children if you have any, that will question why, unlike all their friends, that they cant damage their reproductive organs and cognitive function by staring at screens all day with this crap in their laps.
8) your political affiliations as to step out on this will really separate the men from the boys so to speak. It will cost you dearly to go up against all the establishment because NONE of them have done the right thing.
The wireless issue is a total nightmare because it forces you to PUT IT ALL ON THE TABLE. Remember that some of the greatest gains in history were made by doing just that.
Maybe the green party’s idea of environmental responsibility is to reduce the population. Maybe some people think it is a good idea to sterilize school children with wireless and shorten the life spans of the rest of us. Maybe they have the magic number that is known as the “carrying capacity” of this planet. I don’t know of any other reason any republican, democrat, independent, liberal, green, peace and freedom, atheist, Christian, Jew, Budhist,Muslim or communist would continue to remain silent on the issue of our time. It simply has no other explanation unless you are a eugenecist with the exception of what I believe to be the biggest sin of all-and that is cowardice. Read Revelation 21:8 as they are the first in line for the lake of fire for a reason. The sin of cowardice is the biggest sin of them all as it allows all the others to take root and flourish. May God help us.
