Introducing another one of Foolerton’s Phony Conservative Status Quo Establishment Big Government Union Hacks- Larry Bennett

The more things change the more they stay the same for those comprising an electorate that is not paying attention. Believe me they get by with a little help from their friends.

ponsi and cox

The RAGister’s establishment sycophant Lou Ponsi and Fitzgerald sycophant Gretchen Cox

The typical MO for political operatives here in Fullerton is to simply muddy the waters.

They for the most, put on a thin conservative political veneer, parse words, pat each other on the back, stand for what appears to be something that actually translates into nothing, say what amounts to nothing, do what amounts to nothing, and then

nordell

Robyn Nordell and Shawn Nelson both propped up phony conservative- Democrat turned Republican Jennifer Fitzgerald in the last election

Introducing Larry Bennett who was the head of the failed anti recall campaign a few years back.

DSC00432-300x225

Well he is resurfacing for some more phony conservative acting classes at Fullerton City Hall. Just one problem, his reputation as an establishment union hack precedes him every step of the way. As a refresher, he was the one who presided over the cabal a few years back that tried to cling to power as the residents threw the three stooges that for decades, ran Fullerton into the ground out on their asses.

Well like usual he failed.

FINE COMMUNITY SERVANTS?

Tip-of-the-Hat-640x527

Larry Bennett was and is a tool of the FPD. At the time, Larry Bennett was protecting an out of control department that had multiple dead bodies on its hands.

Dean-Gochenour

Dean Gochenour died while in custody at the house of horrors-Fullerton Jail- Dean was the man who was found dead in his cell at the Fullerton jail and the officer who was in charge at the time, decided to smash his digitally activated recorder (DAR) rather than turn it over to the OC District Attorneys office.

Then there was Kelly Thomas

Then of course comes Larry Bennett to the rescue.  Larry Bennett’s laundry list of campaign donors is stacked to the hilt with those who who also supported the regime that for decades allowed the culture of corruption in the Fullerton Police department to flourish, the crony capitalist deals with the redevelopment scammers and the developers to go down hard and fast, and the bloated salaries and pension scams to fly at mach 2 that have left this town riddled with busted up roads everywhere, ridiculous gridlock with more high density housing on the way and no money left for anything other than The Fullerton Police departments murder and sexual assault lawsuits, and more raises and benefits for the police, fire and city workers that for the most part don’t even live here in Fullerton.

This is a failure of leadership when we excuse this behavior. Barry Levinson should have been booted from the commission. It’s not a tough call. It’s not a close call. We deserve better from our commissioners and we certainly deserve better from our councilmen. Do the right thing.

THIS IS THE CRAP HIS CABAL TURNED OUT WHILE HE WAS AT THE HELM TRYING TO DEFEND THE KILLER COPS AND THE THREE HACKS ON THE COUNCIL THAT WERE RUNNING FULLERTON INTO THE GROUND.

LARRY BENNETT RAN THE ANTI RECALL CAMPAIGN AND MOST LIKELY HAS TO HAVE APPROVED THIS MESSAGE BELOW WHICH IS TOTALLY WITHOUT ANY CLASS OR DIGNITY. SO DOES THAT MEAN MR BENNETT HAS NO CLASS OR DIGNITY? CERTAINLY IS NOT HE PORTRAYS HIMSELF IN PUBLIC.

Links are under the photos per your request and thanks for snapping those images. By the way, no one owns stories Matt and Jane. The truth is free and rightfully so. By the way, there is no way you or Jane can remain objective with connections to the Observer. You both need to cut ties with Sharon Kennedy publicly and immediately and call her out. The duplicity exemplified in that relationship in my opinion is treasonous to the Fullerton residents. As far as I am concerned you are part of the problem if you wish to remain connected at the hip to that rag. All the good you are doing is being cancelled out by all the subterfuge and inference she continues to run for the establishment.

By the way, how do card carrying Green Party members continue to remain silent on and ignore the destruction of our childrens health with the wireless in the schools, and the destruction of the environment with geo engineering and all the microwave bombardment of entire populations of people, plants and animals? I just don’t get it.

    • #3 by Anonymous on May 20, 2016 - 9:26 am

People own the things they make, and merely pasting a link (not even going through the effort to actually put the code in for the link) is not a clear indication of credit. You have a lot to learn about copyright law, Joe, because that really is stealing.

    • #4 by Reality Is.. on May 20, 2016 - 9:47 am

Joe instructing other’s what to believe and how t think. Comical. Stealing other’s material. Imagine if the spots were reversed? All hell would break loose.

    • #5 by Joe Imbriano on May 20, 2016 - 10:14 am

That is what real leaders do RI.

    • #6 by Reality Is..... on May 20, 2016 - 10:30 am

LOL. Real leaders are open to the opinions and beliefs of others. Not closed minded. You are not a true leader by any means.

    • #7 by Anonymous on May 20, 2016 - 12:54 pm

Then why does Matt’s girfriend Jane work for the Observer and why does he claim he is not connected to it? That doesn’t add up.

    • #8 by Anonymous on May 20, 2016 - 12:10 pm

      Real leaders steal content?

    • #9 by Devon on May 21, 2016 - 12:19 pm

Wouldn’t it be nice if we had more people like Joe Imbriano telling it like it is and standing up for all of us? No instead we have an obscure, insignificant naysayer who steps forward to accuse Fullerton’s modern day Che Guevara of stealing material? I have to laugh. Stealing? Hardly. Did Joe cross the line on the pictures? Perhaps. What is the harm? I don’t see any. Both Joe and Matt supposedly have similar goals which is reform in Fullerton.

I read the articles Matt referenced and for the most part, they contained less than 1 percent of the information on Larry Bennett that this article contained.

The photo issue? It is done all the time on the web. Joe offers nothing for sale here. This is a news blog and a not for profit web site and he is not making any money.

Matt needs to grow up. Maybe Matt ought to cover something aside from the politically safe, tired, drab, political spin cycle that reaches no one but a small circle of his liberal fence sitting pals. I dare him to cover one iota of the ground Joe and Barry cover here. He won’t. I dare him to go after the lies that Sharon Kennedy prints twice a month. He won’t.

All he can do is bitch over a picture and make an accusation that has absolutely no merit. See how he hides behind lame excuses for ignoring huge issues and feeds us more bullshit about his questionable connections that supposedly don’t exist. He’s been shackin’ up with Rands for years who has been writing pages for the Observer for years and he expects us to believe has no connection to Kennedy? What the fuck is this guy smoking? Reign your chickadee in pal.

    • #10 by Reality Is.. on May 21, 2016 - 9:05 pm

Dare someone to cover things like Joe and Barry cover things here? Really? Can’t anyone offer their personal opinion anywhere at anytime? Personally the worst type of leaders possible are the Type A ones that think their way is the best and their is no need to even listen to other people’s opinions. The 2nd worst leaders are the ones that fail to recognize the good work and deeds done by others. Joe and Barry are the definition of these two types of leaders.

      No thanks.

    • #11 by Joe Imbriano on May 21, 2016 - 10:15 pm

Leaders? Fullerton is in ruin. Good deeds? That is what employees are paid to do. Funny, I just left a meeting where Bankhead reared his. RI the worst ones are the ones we have and have had. No thanks to the phonies like Fitzpringle and the union hacks Dougeepoo and Fluoride are the first ones who need to go and if the other two don’t grow some, they are next.

    • #12 by Reality Is..... on May 21, 2016 - 10:22 pm

Like I said. You will never convince even one person that a human can’t do one good thing in their life. That’s why what you say goes in one ear and out the other for 99% of people in Fullerton. You aren’t realistic at all. City employees do good work everyday, 99.9% of the time. Just because you disagree with city government and politics, doesn’t mean you can’t recognize the good work city employees do everyday. Some work their assess off and do great work, and you refuse to even acknowledge that. Ever. That’s what you won’t ever be a leader. You are the opposite of a leader. Unless you feel that you can be a city councilperson and not be a leader? Possible. Talk to Travis. He tried that type of leadership and he was gone before he opened his mouth the second time.

    • #16 by Fullerton Lover on May 22, 2016 - 8:50 pm

How can two of the biggest sleaze balls and lowlifes to grace the streets of Fullerton, like Jeremy Popoff and Tony Florentine, tell the rest of the 150,00 Fullerton residents how they would like to gerrymander the districts for their own benefit, and then be backed by the Korean congregation of Grace Ministries, and have it all sanctioned by Curt Pringle puppet, and Chamber of city council woman conduit, Jennifer Fitzgerald.

These people truly have no shame, and certainly no grace.

The following comments were gleaned from the Orange Juice blog, and NOT the Fullerton Rag…

“However, the business community didn’t think that map 2B best represented their interests.
My business is in downtown. Not only my business, but the heart of Fullerton’s business community is in downtown,” said Jeremy Popoff, who drew the business owners’ favored map. He said his fellow business owners didn’t know about the districting or the community meetings on the issue.

“Our downtown business community was not represented in those meetings,” Popoff said. “The entire community needs to be invested in downtown.”

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Jaramillo and Paik — both in support of map 2B — told the council that Fullerton is not only about the downtown area.

“We’re not only the downtown. We have lots of miles of residents that live here, that are raising children, families” Jaramillo told the council. “In the 62 years I have been here, I have seen one Latino on the council who lives on the south side of the railroad tracks.”

Paik acknowledged the support for map 8, but said that it was not the product of months of public input from the rounds of community meetings.

“I want to reemphasize that this process [of drawing up 2B] lingered over 8 months,” Paik said. He said the Latino community compromised by giving up a majority CVAP in a district when they moved forward with map 2B that “all came together together during a community-driven process.”

Joe Florentine, another downtown business owner, criticized 2B’s supporters’ understanding of downtown business.

“I respectfully challenge those that are the proponents of map 2B, only because I don’t think they understand the dynamics of downtown like you folks [the council] do,” Florentine said. “Downtown Fullerton is our hub. It’s where everybody goes for socializing.”

Business owners weren’t the only ones in support of map 8. Charles Han, speaking on behalf of 5,000 members of Grace Ministries International in Fullerton, said he supports giving all five districts a stake in downtown.

“As a former planning commissioner myself, I worked through many decisions on the dais working with business owners in the downtown area. We don’t believe that the downtown area should be monopolized by one member,” Han said.

Resident Joe Imbriano said the council has always kowtowed to the city’s business establishment.

“The downtown businesses, those places are a drain on our revenue. Any more power to them is a big mistake,” Imbriano concluded.

During council deliberations, Mayor Jennifer Fitzgerald echoed the business community’s input and said it’s important for everyone to have a stake in downtown.

“I believe that our downtown business owners have a very legitimate place here at the table in this decision process,” Fitzgerald said.

The Popoff-owned Slidebar in downtown gave $1,000 to Fitzgerald’s campaign last year. Florentine’s Bar and Grill, owned by Florentine, gave Fitzgerald’s 2016 campaign $250, according to her most recent campaign statements.

    • #17 by Fullerton Rag on May 22, 2016 - 8:50 am

“I read the articles Matt referenced and for the most part, they contained less than 1 percent of the information on Larry Bennett that this article contained.”

Yeah, the 1% that is substantive. The rest of Joe’s post is a run-on rant.

“Maybe Matt ought to cover something aside from the politically safe, tired, drab, political spin cycle that reaches no one but a small circle of his liberal fence sitting pals.”

Evidently you don’t read the Rag much. Perhaps you missed the story that stopped the DCCSP in its tracks two years ago. And I’ve criticized initiatives on all sides of the political spectrum, including fence-sitting so-called liberals. Of course, I don’t have time to cover everything, but when I do, I try to give credit to whatever source of info I am referencing.

Yes, I know Sharon Kennedy, whose brother’s comments I have roundly criticized on the Rag. There is nothing wrong with knowing people. I even say Hi to Joe when I see him.

“What the fuck is this guy smoking? Reign your chickadee in pal.”

I like my lungs, so I don’t smoke anything. Chicks aren’t there to be reined in, Mr. sexist, especially mine.

    • #18 by Barry Levinson on May 22, 2016 - 2:45 pm

Matt talking about giving credit where credit is due…it would be nice if you gave me a little credit for stopping the DCCSP two years ago as I was the only one who got up during Public comments and called it for what it was…. a totally non-democratic power grab by City Manager Joe Felz. I explained that night that the city council would be voting to transfer its authority and power to vote on individual development projects and hand it over to a non-elected bureaucrat, Joe Felz. I went on to state that any honest city council would never vote to do just that!

Going forward, it would be nice if we could join forces when we agree on important policy.

However, based on past experiences I have noted that there can be agreement on between you and me on the top 2 or 3 issues facing this city and most liberals and progressives would rather vote for someone who is a liberal who disagrees with them on all two or three issues rather than vote for a conservative that agrees with them on all two or three issues. This is exactly what happened in 2012 when so many liberals and progressives voted for fellow liberal Jan Flory even though she supported the police over Kelly Thomas, was against having a police civilian review board with any power and who was for the massive housing development in Coyote Hills… and so very few of you voted for me who was for a park, for a civilian review board with subpoena power and for getting justice for Kelly Thomas meaning holding all involved accountable under the law.

With all do respect Matt, you are in a tiff over nothing. Mr. Bennett’s connections to The FPOA and to the Chaffee campaign were no secret. Obviously your reaction to Joe fast forwarding the issue by two years clearly shows the problem has gotten worse and not better.

    • #21 by Reality Is.. on May 29, 2016 - 8:17 am

And most winning candidates receive donations from public safety unions. Just a good idea to success. Anti public safety people and candidates usually aren’t good for a city and its citizens.

    • #22 by Fullerton Lover on May 29, 2016 - 9:36 am

…and then again most of those public safety “endorsed” candidates are rotten to the core, and possess the moral compass of an eel.

Broad statement. Most of those public safety candidates are rotten to the core. I know a few not endorsed over the years but majority by far are clearly anti public safety or make it clear they want drastic changes to the current system. Usually a political death sentence.

    • #24 by Fullerton Rag on May 20, 2016 - 10:31 am

Fullerton Rag is just Matt, Joe. Jane wrote a couple of pieces early on, but unless her name is on a story, it isn’t hers. She writes for the Observer. I’ll thank you not to perpetuate the myth that she has anything to do with the Rag. And please enlighten me on my “connections of the Observer,” and why that would prevent me, or anyone else from being objective on a blog.

No one owns stories? Well, I wouldn’t sue over the matter. The web is one big conversation. I was just pointing out your shameless appropriation of my work.

I actually think you have a point about the proliferation of wireless networks and their unknown effects on health. Too bad you have it all mixed up into a conspiratorial mess of chemtrails, depopulation schemes, and flat earth theories.

    • #25 by Joe Imbriano on May 20, 2016 - 12:46 pm

Matt, thank you for the clarification on your connection to the Observer. From all appearances, you and Jane seem to work in tandem as a team.

I am saddened however that you have obviously ignored everything that has been presented at council and on the site for years on wireless. The health effects of microwaves have been known for decades. The debate is over, the science is settled. Microwaves cause cancer and infertility.

Did I just hear a card carrying green party member going on record denying geo engineering? Matt, lets get past this and work on dealing with reality. Denying the obvious is no place to begin. No matter which side of the dais I end up on, I will still work to advance the common good of the residents on all fronts. As far as shameless appropriation, the images have your link on them. You did not write the article on Larry, I did. Write another one and expose him for what he is. He is running in November. There are hundreds of articles on this blog Matt.

Exposing the phonies and the cronies at city hall and their sycophants is not your work, it is everyone’s work Matt. I have proudly watched for three and one half years how you stood up for a murdered homeless man and have sadly witnessed how you have totally ignored the intentional destruction of our children’s physical and reproductive health by what I repeatedly raised with regards to the microwaving of children in Fullerton schools.

Matt regardless of your take on the shape of the earth, relegating the wireless and geo engineering crisis to conspiracy theories amounts to one giant copout. That is the problem in this town. No one wants to stand up for the truth. Everyone wants to play nicey nice, and try to stay popular and politically correct. No time for that Matt. The children are in harms way, Fullerton is for sale and for that matter, we are all in harms way with all of the out of control microwave towers that keep coming and the rains that just seem not to be able to anymore.
