This came in to me last night from a concerned mother who has been watching on the sidelines and who has read up on this issue. I felt compelled to share this, as the sentiment contained here is shared by many who are now gaining the courage to speak on this issue.
We all care about our fellow human, that is certain. There are
so many good folks out there working tirelessly to do good
for the community. We are busy raising money through galas,
fund raisers, and reaching out for corporate sponsorships.
Everyone is saying “yes” we want to participate and help.
Our purpose is good . . . . . or IS it?
The FSD has in their plans an enormous expansion of WiFi-
enabled devices, one for each child’s hands. FSD believes
they are doing the best for the children, and the school and
community have gotten together to make this happen. Their
intentions are good.
But, what if FSD would actually look at the research and
studies that continue to grow. Even easier, just read the
letters from the following individuals and institutions
www.wifiinschools.com/lausd-testimony.html
Dr. Martha Herbert, Ph. D, M.D., Assistant Professor,
Pediatric Neurology, Harvard Medical School,
Massachusetts General Hospital.
American Academy of Environmental Medicine
Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons,
Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics
Dr. Magda Havas, B.Sc., Ph.D., Environmental & Resource
Studies, Trent University, ON, Canada
Karolinska Institutet, Department of Neuroscience,
Stockholm
Joel Moscowitz, Ph. D, Director of Center for Family and
Community Health, University of California, Berkeley
Devra Davis, Ph.D. MPH, Environmental Health Trust
Antoinette Stein, Ph.D., Environmental Health Trust
Mary Beth Brangan, Co-director, Ecological Options
Network
Please keep in mind that this is only a partial list.
Each of these researchers and institutions is saying the
same thing: opt for wired technologies. The ones who
have studied the effects of wifi are in a position to make this
statement. The effects of WiFi in schools IS HARMFUL.
It is truly amazing what we can do when we set our minds
to it. But, what if we find out in the process that, while our
intentions were good, the fruits of our labor are harmful to the
children? This is the case, FSD.
This is the information we are trying to get FSD to sit down
and look at. It is not complicated stuff. The research does,
however, make very clear that the FSD wifi technology plans
are harmful to our kids.
You have been silent too long, FSD. It is time to do the
responsible thing and look at this information. Make evident
that your concern and care for our children outweighs a
commitment to the wrong road.
