The Church in bed with the State crossing the line: The Hunt Library and Grace Ministries

Well tonight the Library Board  voted to set the stage to begin the end of the blessing of the 1962 endowment that Norton Simon and the Hunt Food & Industries Foundation donated to Fullerton. It was to be a building and park located in Southwest Fullerton, to the City on the condition that it is “used solely for a public library and public library park.” The donation became known as the Hunt Branch and is located at 201 S. Basque Avenue. Of course it has been City property since then and that means it is public property-our property. Looks like it is church property now,

dsc00162-300x225-1

Fullerton’s for sale ladies and gentlemen and it looks like Joe Felz, with our own property, is trying to buy off one of the political powerhouses in town with a sweetheart real estate deal right after Valentines day with Grace Ministries. An ambiguously worded agenda item, little to no details, a possible sole source bid down the line if coucil approves to not fund it and to sell it off, no appraisal-Has a backdoor deal already been penned waiting to go down?

Sean Paden’s campaign manager and Library board of trustees president Ryan Cantor along with trustee and former City Manager Chris Meyer, actually were working together to get the board to vote on taking what was given to the Fullerton residents to be a park and a library and set the stage for the possible sell off. You can’t do this with things that were given to the city for a specific purpose. This is completely unethical in a park poor, under served community.

dsc00164-300x225

Residents beware, you are now unauthorized personnell

Get this- They tried to do all of this without a complete description of the property, an appraisal, sufficient advanced notice to the public or other board members, details, or any written explanation confirming if this is even legal. The Library Board Agenda, put together by Felz, read ambiguously “Hunt Branch” with no description. What the heck was that supposed to mean? Yes they tried and succeeded to bamboozle the library board into voting to pass the buck to the rubber stamp hacks on the city council to cash this baby in for a song and a dance to one of the wealthiest non profits west of the Mississippi  to take away a park and a library from an under-served area that so desperately needs it.

The agenda item and packet contained just one paragraph and the motion passed to send the decision to the council to find a whopping supposedly needed 1.3 million dollars to reopen the library  or to sell it. It was cooked up with a ridiculously inflated 1.3 million dollars a year operating cost estimate with no documentation as to where this number came from to run and reopen a room full of inanimate books while almost all of the employees are still employed by the city leaving just lights and gas as books don’t eat, drink water or go to the bathroom. What a scam.

Yes and it appeared to be a carefully orchestrated attempt by Ryan Cantor and Chris Meyer to hoodwink the library board into setting the stage for disposing of public property in a most certainly immoral, unethical and possibly an illegal manner and  set it up for Felz to get the council to sell it to Grace Ministries for a song and a dance. It is on hold for now until the council comes up with the 1.3 million, or denies the funding for reopening it and then they will try to rip us off one more time and short sale it to Grace Ministries where the grass is green and money flows in like the water  flows out of Laguna Lake. Not if I can help it folks.

and Grace Ministries have no regard for the conditions of that original endowment much less the public in general and once again the Parks and recreation commission was bypassed on this one. Which council members voted to give Joe Felz an evergreen contract? Which council members voted to appoint Ryan Cantor and Chris Meyer to the library board? Why is Joe Felz so desperate to sell off Fullerton? Money and political favors or worse?

hunt1

The Hunt Branch library served the community for decades until 2013, when it was closed ostensibly for safety concerns over a burgeoning homeless population. We all know the spike in the homeless population was a direct result of the Fullerton Police department murder of Kelly Thomas garnering worldwide attention and by defacto, allowed Fullerton to become sanctuary city USA for the homeless. The Hunt Branch library was now the scene of a new tent city.

In a tale of two cities, in such dark bitter irony, back dropped by abject poverty right at its doorstep, Grace Ministries International was just finishing up the $25,000,000 sanctuary to ostensibly worship God

while ignoring the plight of the less fortunate right under their noses. This appears to be nothing more than Joe Felz with the help of Ryan Cantor and Chris Meyer maneuvering the unsuspecting library board of trustees,  into releasing control of the Hunt Branch into the hands of the council in a possible coordinated attempt to buy off the Grace Ministries’ massive Korean congregation’s political influence by setting the stage to get the council to hand over city property in closed session with a sole source bid at what could be a fire sale price.

Look at the price of this property when a church buys it from a city and look at what The Lark Ellen property sold for by a church to a developer? Why is the Hunt Branch not being reopened  immediately to serve the community instead of being set up to possibly be sold in a sole source bid to Grace Ministries?

felza-150x150

Look, I am a Christian ladies and gentleman and the behavior of this mega church corporation is not Christian and forget about Joe Felz and his sycophants like Meyer as well as the political operatives like Cantor . This church is in bed with the phony conservative Republicans like Royce, Kim, and Fitzgerald  that are ruining what is left of our city and state as you slumber and elect these Trojan Horses. Instead of opening their doors to the poor, Grace Ministries is courting the money changers, refusing to engage the culture, refusing TO GET INVOLVED IN SOCIAL AND MORAL ISSUES, and locking out those in need while rolling out the red carpet to the Royce Machine and its phony RINO hacks like Young Kim and Jennifer Fitzgerald.

The church, with its burgeoning number of money changers, I mean administrators, supposedly needed the Hunt Branch library for office space even though right now is just being used as a library for the church. The property looks more like a railroad magnate’s estate up at the Huntington Library in Pasadena and is probably one of the most pristine properties in Fullerton surrounded by people crammed into apartments with no parks and no parking.

Enter Joe Felz seen here at the 2-25-16 Library Board of Trustees meeting. The lights are on Joe.

DSC00464

Back in 2013 , Joe Felz cooked up a lease for $1300 a month to Grace Ministries to rent the facility that the city council gladly passed which clearly violated the terms of the original endowment. $1300 a month won’t even get you a studio apartment south of the tracks.

What happened next is heartbreaking.

Now Joe Felze orchestrates the BYPASSING OF THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION AGAIN and cooking up another land giveaway behind our backs with this latest land scam just like he tried to do with the Summit House lease a few months back.

felza-150x150-1

Now assuming the council goes for this scam, the Hunt Library is rumored to be sold for a fire sale price in a sole source bid in closed session to Grace Ministries who already owns a 26-acre campus purchased in 2000 by the Korean congregation from ConAgra (formerly Hunt-Wesson Foods).

Here is the man on the library board that thinks the property needs to be sold because people can’t find it.

meyer-268x300

Chris Meyer

Amazing this library board trustee happens to be the retired Fullerton city manager Chris Meyer who is married to Janny Meyer, the forced irradiator of children in the Fullerton School District, FSD trustee Janny Meyer that made sure every last child in Fullerton has an iPad (infertility pad) that has google maps installed on them. Every kid in town could find this place but this this guy, no way.

The church is in bed with the state once again in Fullerton and like clockwork, when Felz shows up to a library board meeting with someone from Jones and Mayer’s office, you know someone’s getting hosed. Once again its the taxpayers.

felza-150x150

So much for the church loving your neighbor. Looks like the church is once again ripping off their neighbor. What I see here is the church in bed with the State, and they are all crossing the line turning their backs on the poor and the taxpayers in lockstep disgusting harmony.

Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him,2and He began to teach them, saying:

3Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

5Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness,

for they will be filled.

7Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy.

8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God.

10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

This building at Grace Ministries in Fullerton looks more like a bank than a church. That’s because that is precisely what it is. MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF MONEY GO IN AND NEVER COME BACK TO THE COMMUNITY JUST LIKE CITY HALL.

o

Grace ministries doesn’t need more office space. They need to give it up to those who have nothing. They need to give up some of their “money for nothing ill gotten gain” and open their doors not to donors but to the needy right at their doorstep. While this massive Christian congregation remains silent on the issues of our time such as the nightmarish lies about how the children came from monkeys and rocks as the public  schools continue the dumbbing down, brainwashing of school children, the sterilizing forced microwave wireless radiation in schools from the technology programs rammed down the kids throats that gets them all addicted to satanic video games, and the forced vaccinations The patron saint of Grace Ministries Young Kim voted for, we must not let them abscond with public property behind our backs even thought they have abdicated all their other responsibilities.

I remember when churches used to build orphanages. Now the government rips children from their families through social services, bonuses the social workers for removal, places them in nightmarish foster homes where they are forcibly drugged for even more money for the foster parents only to have the churches finish the job by helping parental rights get terminated with their aiding and abetting the for profit adoption rings while these churches take all the money and build investment portfolios instead of women’s shelters and temporary housing for those in need.

I remember when churches used to care for the poor and now the government has created a welfare system that has destroyed the family by making it impossible for a dad to be in the home creating a multigenerational poverty trap nightmare that has destroyed the self reliant, moral fabric of our society while these churches take all the money and build themselves real estate empires and set up more phony non profits.

I remember when churches used to care for the homeless and now they count all the money and build massive buildings and parking structures that sit empty six days a week while people sleep in the gutter and get beat up and murdered on the streets by police and evil sadistic people just because they have no place to go.

I remember when churches used to build schools. Now the churches run schools that are set up as non profits that take in $20,000 a month per classroom and the teacher is making $30oo a month if they are lucky. These church run schools are so expensive and no one can afford to send their children there while they pay the teachers poverty level slave wages. Now the government has sucked in every last boy and girl into a secular humanist mind control system that has now turned into a sterilizing microwave matrix with iPads irradiating the reproductive organs of every last child in town where they are forcibly injected with up to 65 toxic vaccines just to get in and be taught there is no God, where they are taught bogus science that destroys the validity of The Word of God, where its ok to cross dress, have 2 moms or dads, that they came from animals and its ok to act like an animal while these churches count all the money and court the corrupt politicians and officials directly responsible for all of the aforementioned virtually ensuring it all continues in unabated in perpetuity.

I remember when churches used to do what the Great Commission required of it-that is to preach the Gospel, be salt and light, and win the world over to The Lord. Now these mega churches count the cash, water down the message, refuse to influence and engage the culture in any meaningful way and remain silent as  our society is crumbling while being completely satanized and morally bankrupted by virtually every aspect of its culture that the church has abandoned for its love of money. You will know a tree by its fruit. What kind of tree is Grace Minisitries?

In a much needed about face, we urge Grace Ministries to work with the City Of Fullerton, donate and help restore the facility to serve the community, not for more office space so they can devise more ways to fleece the flock while turning their backs on the least of these, that is the poor and less fortunate among us literally lying on their doorstep. Ironically the homeless spend many cold nights on the cold hard floor of the armory in the shadows of this urban oasis that is off limits to anyone except their donors. As a Christian myself, married to a lovely Korean American, this was a hard article for me to write but one that had to be written, nonetheless. These bizarre dichotomies need to end, people need to live up to what they profess, and these churches need to start working in their own backyards instead of abdicating their responsibilities to the government. They are tax free for a reason. The reason they exist is to serve the needy both the spiritually and the physically needy.

As far as the City council, lets see how corrupt they really are. Lets see if they vote to fund the reopening of this library. Lets see if they vote to give this piece of public property away for pennies on the dollar in clear violation of the public trust and in clear violation of the original grant conditions just to plug the gaping holes in the budget that the Felz, Flory, Fitzgerald, and Chaffee cabal cooked up and passed. Lets see what their rubber stamp lackeys on the planning commission that passed The DCCSP will vote to go along with this betrayal just like they went along with the massive betrayal with the DCCSP that will ruin Fullerton forever. If they do, then maybe, figuratively speaking, we can bulldoze all their tents at city hall in November at the ballot box.

First would not the city be violating its agreement with Norton Simon and the Hunt Food and Industries Foundation?

Second, even if they have the right to sell it to the church who knows what is the fair market price. We just learned 2 weeks ago at a planning meeting that the city was all primed and ready to give up for FREE approximately 2.8 acres of land that is now Nutwood Avenue for the College Town project. Where does their fiduciary responsibilities come in with regard to all these very questionable moves? I forgot, Joe Felz is leading the way and that unfortunately explains why these proposed deals are so very, very bad for the people of Fullerton. Joe Felz once again puts special interests needs way ahead of the people of Fullerton. Please retire Mr. Felz.

I certainly will be asking questions at the next Fullerton council meeting on March 1st and the next Park and Recreation meeting on March 13.

My understanding is that the original gift was predicated on the city using the land as a library and park. It is also my understanding that the adjacent Park is part of that land donation made in 1962 by Norton Simon and the Hunt Wesson Foundation.

Therefore, the action to sell the land at any price should not be allowed. It also means that any changes suggested for that property should go before the Parks and Recreation Committee before it ever reaches the City council. I sincerely hope the city does not attempt to circumvent our committee as they did with the Summit House lease extension proposal back last October.

Our city government repeatedly demonstrates a failure to conduct themselves within their own rules and procedures, not taking their fiduciary responsibilities seriously. It gives me no joy to say this but our city is corrupt, beholden to only the special interests and themselves. They are the elites, the protected class and we the people, the unprotected class are constantly ignored to our detriment.

      • #3 by Barry Levinson on February 27, 2016 - 1:36 pm

Thank you Zonya Townsend for putting forth an alternative motion to reconsider properly funding Hunt Branch as a library, possibly a children’s library, temporarily at least voting down the motion to sell the property. Shame on former City Manager, Chris Meyer and Ryan Cantor who spoke in favor of selling the property to Grace Ministries. .

Another example of how the elites of this city, in this case some on the Library Board act with total disregard for the good of the community and Fullerton as a whole.

        • #4 by Reality Is..... on March 1, 2016 - 9:35 am

So now that you know the facts of how the Hunt Foundation works, what’s your recommendation on what to do with the land? You don’t want more housing but you want more libraries? You been to a library recently? Barely anyone there. We have plenty of libraries. I agree. Send it to the people to vote. You might be surprised how people vote on things like this. My money is that they vote opposite of how you think. Something to ponder.

I knew people who worked at the Hunt library a few years ago, and they said it was bleeding in red ink then, and that Felz was slashing their budgets monthly even back then.

I think Felz was just looking for a convenient excuse to slash services to our children, in order to feed the over sized pensions of the likes of Chris Meyer, who doesn’t seem to have a problem in denying the children of Fullerton a local library, in order to keep the money flowing to the public employees retirement fund that allows him and Janny Meyer to jet set around the world every year like rock stars, while the residents of Fullerton’s level of service languishes into oblivion.

I would guess that the assertions made regarding Grace Ministries apply to most Fullerton churches.

They have closed their doors to God’s word while they count their money. Hypocrisy abounds.

    • #9 by Anonymous on February 29, 2016 - 5:17 pm

I noticed that Grace Ministries fills up the DMV parking lot at Euclid and Valencia every Sunday morning with their congregants being shuttled back and forth to the church at Brookhurst and Valencia.

My suspicion is that the church will end up leveling the Hunt Library, and using the space to build a parking lot.

Someone needs to explain why the City Council approved this huge mega church on this lot, if they don’t have enough parking spaces for those attending services?

  5. #10 by Joe Imbriano on February 26, 2016 - 10:24 am

When you blow the lid off the pot they have to turn down the flame. Glad to hear the deal is off the table. Hunt is going to remain public property for public use and enjoyment, not some place to count the dough for the money changers.

  6. #11 by Barry Levinson on February 28, 2016 - 1:23 pm

Question: Why was Ryan Cantor and Chris Meyer in such a hurry to recommend the sale of the Hunt Branch Library and surrounding property for what appears to be a very below market price?
Very possible answer: The city just learned that the College Town proposal was temporarily halted to a time uncertain because the citizens around the proposed College Town went to the planning committee meeting and voiced their opinion in unison that they do not want this plan. A cash cow in the form of almost 40 million dollars in park dwelling fees had just been put on hold. The city getting this news must have been in a panic. How are we going to fund all the goodies for the special interests we just passed? In a desperate need of additional short-term revenue to support their 2.8 million dollar budget deficit and the newly passed 6% police raises and additional payments for part of the police unfunded liabilities all costing the taxpayers many million of additional dollars, Joe Felz decided lets give away, he meant sell for a bargain price Hunt Branch Library and its property. Great idea he thought. They get at least some of the much needed cash the city desperately needs and at the same time they help out another special interest group.

There was no notices to the community telling them of the city’s intentions to sell the property. It was even a surprise for some of the Library Board members such as Zonya Townsend. One of the most if not thee most important votes by the Library Board and it is given no publicity or advanced warning to the community.

The first thing that an honest city government would do is to set up town meetings throughout the neighborhood getting feedback as to how the property should be used going forward. That is what an honest city does. But this is not an honest city lead by our City Manager, Joe (I want to solely control the approval of the high-rise developments throughout and along most of the major streets of Fullerton i.e. the DCCSP) Felz.

None of the following was provided about the potential sale of this property:
No proof was given at the meeting that this sale was even legal given that the land was donated with the requirement that it be used as a library and a park.
No appraisals of the value of the building and/or the land were provided prior to the voting.
No square footage of the building and no acreage of the property was disclosed.
No discussion prior to this meeting of the other uses for this very valuable piece of property in the underserved community of south Fullerton. The need for parkland is critical throughout Fullerton and especially in the south part of town. Apparently putting this on the Library Board agenda to sell, ignored such needs of the community.

No support provided for the value of the property. You know what they say in politics if you repeat something enough times people start believing it is true.

Conclusion: What is the sale of this property really about?
I believe based on all of the above that it is an unethical and maybe even an illegal attempt by the city to get their hands on some desperately needed short-term cash (that the city council with the support of Joe Felz) have created), by selling an extremely valuable piece of property without any regard for the needs of the immediate community.
Just another example of how broken and corrupt is the leadership of our beloved City of Fullerton.

      Chris Meyer

This is not the beginning of the end for Hunt . Rather, it is the first step in getting back control of a City facility that has suffered from budget cuts, a hard to find location, a hostile, and unsafe environment, and a need for its role in the community to be redefined, and funded accordingly. The Norton Simon Foundation has released its reverter clause in the gift deed, and the facility is now unfettered by its requirement to solely be a library, which opens up a wide range of services, including a library, and media access center, and whatever the community needs. It is my belief that after the homeless issue at the branch is addressed, and the City’s budget recovers, there will be an opportunity for a renaissance of the facility, and the adjacent park. To that end the Daltons, and Fullerton Heritage will be working to add the branch, and the main building on the Grace Ministries campus to the National Register to protect these significant architectural structures designed by William Pierra, as part of the City’s rich cultural history. This is not the beginning of the end, but rather the start of a new, and much more diverse role for Hunt in the southwest community.

You are a waste of space in a City that needs real people who care about saving the city. Not some former city mgr who only sits on boards to make sure his/her presence are not forgotten. Just looked at my Fullerton water bill. The library is asking for a donation for books and materials. Maybe we should tell Joe Felz to cut his salary because our tax dollars are not even enough to cover books for the library.

We will continue to get squeezed, our services cut while our tax dollars increasingly go to salaries, pensions and benefits for government employees. The government exists not to provide service to the residents but to pay salaries, etc.

  8. #16 by ??? on February 29, 2016 - 1:54 pm

For people who claim to be such watchdogs in demanding transparency and honesty in your city government, you sure are misinformed. About 4 years ago, the Hunt Foundation agreed to remove the restriction on the city that the Hunt be preserved as a library and a park. Look it up! And the city would not sell the property for $1.3 million but probably three times that amount. Sheeesh!

    • #17 by Joe Imbriano on February 29, 2016 - 6:05 pm

The property was given to the city for a library and a park. The city needs more parks and more libraries because the population has grown tremendously since the 1960’s. This particular piece of public property is not to be recklessly disposed of to buy political influence and plug holes in a budget bleeding red ink from the greedy unions. The city government exists to serve the residents and not the city employees who for the most part don’t even live in the city.

      • #18 by ??? on March 1, 2016 - 12:11 am

Yup! The city has grown tremendously and continues to grow. So four years ago, the Hunt Foundation, which gave the property to the city, REMOVED the condition that it must remain a library. And now the city, with approval from the planning commission and city council council will determine what’s best for the citizens. Ask your hero Bruce Whitaker how he feels about cities owning too much property.
And yes, the city has grown tremendously, but when more housing is proposed to accommodate said growth, you go bonkers. So we need more libraries to accommodate the growth but not more housing??? Brilliant!!! And to say the growth in the city’s homeless population stems from Kelly Thomas being killed by the police might be most outlandish, ignorant statement I’ve ever read … anywhere. Homelessness is on the upswing all over So Cal and has nothing to do with Kelly Thomas’ death.

Facts are facts. The plan was for a fire sale and now, just like we wanted, they have to go through a major political hoop to make Uncle Joe’s plan work and deny the funding for a reopening on the heels of the very same council’s vote to give the greedy police and firefighters unions raises with no way to pay for them. Ought to be interesting with the DCCSP on ice, and College Town back to the morgue.

The council is in their own trick bag now.

Wrong, the article is correct in exposing what the plans are for this facility and now the price just went up and maybe the church won’t be swallerin’

                • #23 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 12:22 pm

The Hunt property was never purported to get sold for $1.3 million. You are flat-out wrong. And, as has been pointed out, the city absolutely has the legal right to sell the property and not keep it as a library. A word of advice Joe, when you go on the attack (which is all you do), you better be armed with facts, not half-truths, flat-out lies, or, worse yet, convoluted, ridiculous conspiracy theories.

                  • #24 by Anon on March 1, 2016 - 10:42 pm

Eh, in respect of our forefathers and how important they found public education…. I think we can pretty much guess with certainty what their wishes would have been as far as keeping as many libraries open as we can. At some point we have to weigh core values and what this country was built on over the dollar. IMHO

                  • #25 by Anonymous on March 1, 2016 - 11:21 pm

I’m curious as to why the city believes that it would cost $125,000 a month to fund a building that they already own?

It’s staff is only 2 or 3 employees, and the rest are usually school children that volunteer to fulfill the Fullerton school systems community service requirements?

Why did/is the city only get $50 a day to rent the library out to the Grace Ministries church group?

How the heck do you know Joe is wrong? Do you have proof he’s wrong or lying? Half-truths and flat-out lies, huh? Oh, I get it…you must be in bed with all those corrupt city officials to be here to discredit Joe. That’s the only reason why you are here. Joe is already making a difference in this town and you and your buddies can’t stand it. A word of advice to you: YOU better get YOUR facts straight before posting here, you MORON.

Well, truth, it’s not really that hard.

No one proposed selling Hunt for $1.300,000. It simply didn’t happen.

Name calling or screaming loudly won’t change that, sorry.

That was the information from my source that I was provided with. I have nothing in writing thus far so I go with my source. We will see what the price tag is and the CPRA request will reveal whether we are being ripped off again with what has been claimed to operate the Hunt. I am not arrogant, the people that have been ripping off the taxpayers for decades are. $1300 a month rent of our facility to the cash register church while people work three jobs for a 650 square foot apartment in the hood for $1300 a month? Look at the agenda item ambiguously titled “hunt branch” no details? Then a motion for a sale without investigating costs to repurpose, bypassing park and rec commissioners of which this is in their direct purview, without an appraisal, details of the sale and a 1.3 million number thrown around, then A SOLE SOURCE BID to give public property away to the church? Go wash a police car will you.

Can anyone else appreciate the dark irony of this picture that was taken after the Hunt Library branch closed, which clearly shows that the Fullerton Police Department actually had a “Hunt Branch Facility”, yet Fullerton City Manager, Joe Felz, stated that the main reason that the Hunt Branch was being closed when it did, was because the staff at the library didn’t feel safe coming to work?

                    Where’s your retraction? Where’s your apology? Where’s Barry’s apology?

And of course you’re arrogant. You flat out lie, you don’t apologize, you don’t print a retraction, and have the audacity to tell me to go wash a police car?

That’s the height of arrogance, Joe. Maybe you should wash your mouth out with soap.

Instead of plotting conspiracy theories based on lies you recklessly repeat, why don’t you just try not being a dick for a change? 139,999 people in Fullerton manage to do so every single day. You can, too.

If you think you can run a library for less money, I’m sure everyone would love to hear how, but no one is going to help you or listen if you treat everyone like inferiors.

How do you have the slightest clue what’s best for the citizens? There are thousands of citizens who attend churches that they feel are best for them. Yet to you, many of these churches are phony. There are thousands of citizens who favor more housing and business growth in town. Yet to you, planning for future growth is part of a conspiracy orchestrated by corrupt city officials. Joe, you have no clue what residents in this town want or need. The only thing you know is what’s best for Joe.

            • #46 by Joe Imbriano on March 1, 2016 - 3:03 pm

These churches are a joke. Do you like all the lines in the sky today and everyday when its 80 degrees and no rain for months? Like the 65 vaccines rammed into your kids, the forced irradiation in the schools, the city teetering on bankruptcy with the fire dept guys with their 1 million dollar a year overtime scam in the parking lot high fiving each other over the contract negotiations while the roads are all busted up, the water getting turned off and they have plans to add another 100,000 residents just to pay for all this parasitic out of control feast on the taxpayers? I deal with reality, you defend thuggery. How does it feel to be morally bankrupt? Which one of these phony churches do you attend? Will you be washing police cars, painting a school or watching the Kelly Thomas video 400 times with Dan Hughes on the upcoming Love Fullerton day?

What does this have to do with the library being sold? Why are you trying to corner Joe on his allegations? Has he not been explicit enough for you?

I suspect that you are connected to Joe Felz or city hall in some manner. Most people are keenly aware of the dealings of these churches and that is why most people don’t go to church anymore. Joe is doing what any person concerned for the well being of the community would do, that is to challenge the status quo and put the issues out there.

I think you are a jealous fool who is deeply connected with bad people. Why don’t you tell us who you are. Just listen to yourself frothing at the mouth demanding that he answer your riduculous question. Stick to the issue here which is the sale of the property at a ridiculous price and only to one buyer. That must be stopped.

I could see Joe and Barry saying that about the homeless too. comical at best. Homelessness is a disaster in this country and is increasing by the day. It will only get worse. With the Prop 47 laws now, I’ve noticed that the drug addicts get absolutely no help anymore. They used to at least get help when they were locked up for 30 days or 60 days. Some found that time to get sober and get help in jail. Now with no jail time at all in this State, they have no chance to ever get sober. Everyone just gets a ticket now and never goes to jail. This state is a total disaster right now with the law changes and is getting worse by the day.

You know this isn’t a nanny city right? We don’t need people like Larry Bennett, “MR. Anti-Recall”, and “MR. I Never Met a Public Employee Union yet I wouldn’t sell my soul to” determining what’s best for the residents of Fullerton

Joe is his own man alright! Not that I was a fan of Tony’s blog, but at least Tony put his money where his mouth was. And Tony knew how to play politics and had the money to fund entire campaigns and rally support. Joe can’t hold a candle to Tony or Bruce … or to any current council member for that matter and will be lucky to raise enough money to buy a single campaign sign. Joe has insulted virtually every group in this city .. church goers, women, the business community, supporters of public safety and God knows who else. Not very good strategy when running for office

            • #63 by Fullerton Lover on March 2, 2016 - 7:17 am

Your “money talks in Fullerton” beat down is actually making a really good case as to why Fullerton residents like Joe Imbriano should run for city council.

Don’t you think that those public employees unions expect payback from the current council majority that they supported in the last election?

              • #64 by Barry Levinson on March 2, 2016 - 11:37 am

Absolutely, Fullerton Lover you are correct that employee unions expect payback of their support and donations.

I had to suppress a laugh when Council member Chaffee said that he is not running for office but is still for the firefighters agreement. He did not talk about union support for his last campaign.

Chaffee was also quick to accuse Council member Sebourn of not telling the truth when he said the council set a much to generous starting point for this round of negotiations with all the city unions. I believe that Council member Sebourn was indeed being forthright in those comments.

These were the arguments by Fitzgerald, Flory and Chaffee. The firefighters do a good job and we need them for our safety. They also commented that if we did not pay them they would go elsewhere. Readers do you know how many thousands of qualified applicants the City of Los Angeles had the last time they had a few openings in their Fire Department. Mayor Fitzgerald stated that it was easy to be against this agreement. I want to remind Ms. Fitzgerald it is much easier to be for it because as you well know the unions are one of the most powerful special interests throughout all of California. As a consultant/PR/lobbyist Mayor Fitzgerald you know this much better than most people.

I was watching the city council meeting last night, and couldn’t believe the “off with their heads” tone she snapped at both you and Mr. Imbriano, after you both had delivered intelligent and thoughtful remarks about preserving the park and library for our children to enjoy.

I suggest going to the 49 minute mark and listen to the way the Queen of Mean treats Mr. Levinson and Mr. Imbriano immediately after they finish their public comments.

Then watch how she treats the woman who follows Mr, Imbriano, who heaped loads of praise towards Ms. Fitzgerald.

VERY telling behavior and DEFINITELY not very Christian or Christ like.

Why are you rationalizing bad behavior?

I guess a better question, is why doesn’t the city council ever respond to either Joe or Barry when they ask a legitimate question outside of public comments?

I think most people would get frustrated if you continually ignore their legitimate concerns about the city in which they’re families reside.

Especially when the people that are ignoring them or being rude to them are actually being compensated to listen to ALL Fullerton residents… not just the ones that they agree with.

Is there some sort of behavior standard that needs to be met before you think they’ll listen to Joe or Barry’s remarks?

                      I don’t.

Please come to any council meeting and witness how disrespectful and mean Mayor Fitzgerald is to anyone who dares to have a different opinion than her, no matter how nicely it is presented before council. Her sour facial expressions during these moments are legendary. At these moments, it truly gives the audience a chance to glimpse at her true self.
Also, when was the last time anyone on that dais spoke out about the obvious legitimate concerns about Mayor Fitzgerald’s built in CONFLICT OF INTEREST with her employment as Vice President of Curt Pringle and Associates. How many people do you know get hired by a company at the Vice President level to start? The silence about her employment on the dais is extremely troubling to me. Why would Whitaker, Sebourn, Flory and Chaffee remain silent on this very important issue? Why won’t she disclose her client list? Does it include current or future companies that will do business with the City of Fullerton?
Finally, does any rationale human being think it was a coincidence that someone who has had the same public relations/government consulting business for over a decade only gets hired by Mr. Pringle after she is elected to the Fullerton City Council. She obviously became more valuable to Mr. Pringle as soon as she became a Fullerton City Council. Why do you think that is? Is it because she is so honest and only votes for the good of the people or is it something else? It is good to be the king and queen of government/special interest influence. I hear it pays extremely well.

Mayor Fitzgerald was pretty nasty in her tone to both Joe and Barry. I think they are getting to her. I can’t wait until Joe and Barry disclose more examples of the city’s failure to do it job for the citizens of Fullerton. I think there are some on the dais who will be sorry for some of their assertions at tonight’s council meeting.

Mr. Levinson’s disclosure that Joe Felz wants to sell the Hunt Branch Library to Grace Ministries on a sole source basis got him really rattled. Mr. Levinson was right to point out that it is never a good financial idea to sell a valuable piece of property without allowing all to bid for it on the open market. It was amazing to me how Mr. Felz got exposed and then admitted it but that it was complicated. Mr. Felz it is not complicated at all. You have abandoned your fiduciary responsibly and for that you deserve to be fired. The people who pay attention have zero confidence that you will do the right things for Fullerton.
I agree with the comment above, that Mr. Pringle might be having second thoughts about his hiring Ms. Fitzgerald after she got elected to the Fullerton council. Her effectiveness in trying to fool the public is not working all that well for her. Mr. Pringle I imagine, expects his employees especially his Vice President to bring home the bacon.

With election season nearly upon us, it is painfully obvious that Joe is now becoming quite the politician … tapping into the Politics 101 playbook, attacking his opposing candidates, portraying them as greedy politicians who don’t care about the poor little children who won’t have a library if the Hunt gets sold. Great play Joe! And once again, going on the attack with misinformation: the city will sell the Hunt for $1.3 million? Wrong! The city is not allowed to sell the Hunt? Wrong! And to accuse Grace Ministries of somehow being part of some conspiracy?? Joe has no clue whatsoever what Grace does and what contributions they have made to the poor, to the children and less fortunate members of society.
    Good stuff Joe!

    • #81 by Joe Imbriano on March 3, 2016 - 12:36 pm

No playbook pal. Just telling it like it is. It will soon be time for these churches to open their books and tell us all what the heck they are doing with all the money while you can go wash a police car.

      • #82 by Anonymous on March 3, 2016 - 1:49 pm

Churches financial records are public record and free for anyone to view, including the records for Wiley Drake, who was once investigated by the IRS tax evasion

        • #83 by Joe Imbriano on March 3, 2016 - 6:08 pm

Churches financial records are not public record and are not free for anyone to view. Go try and get a copy of the financials of EV Free and Grace Ministries and post them here. As far as Wiley Drake is concerned, he was shaken down by the atheist hate group and cleared. He has done more for the homeless and poor than all of these other churches combined with a shoestring budget. He was THE ONLY pastor out on the sidewalk protesting the murder of Kelly Thomas while all the others hid behind their church doors counting their money. I thought that I would mention that Wiley Drake and I flew up to Sacramento to try to stop the evil forced vaccine law. You know the one that the phony RINO hack Young Kim voted for? You know the law that forces aborted baby parts, metals, nano particles, sterilants, and toxins to get injected into all the children that ALL the churches refused to address and allow parents to collect signatures for the referendum to overturn it? Yeah you are totally full of crap and have plenty of company. Go wash a police car.

          • #84 by Anonymous on March 4, 2016 - 10:54 am

            Wiley Drake???
The same guy who was investigated by the IRS for violating tax laws?
The same guy who applauded the murder of an abortion provider?
The same guy who prayed for God to kill president Obama and encouraged his followers to do the same?
The same guy who wasted tax payers time and money by taking his ridiculous assertion that Obama is not U.S. citizen all the way to the Supreme Court?
The same guy who encouraged followers to pray for the deaths of several members of the group, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State?
            That Wiley Drake?
And you have absolutely no clue what any church does for the homeless or who was out protesting the death of Kelly Thomas.

            • #85 by Joe Imbriano on March 4, 2016 - 12:42 pm

No comment on the secret finances of the huge cash registers in town? Oh yes make it all about Wiley Drake instead of Grace Ministries, Chris Meyer, Ryan Cantor and Joe Felz.

Yes that Wiley Drake. The same one that threw the FBI Project Meggido report on the ground and stomped on it during a church service. The same Wiley Drake that flew back and forth to prevent John Ashcroft from stealing the Indiana Baptist temple at gunpoint by the Feds, The same Wiley Drake that was at the Davidian compound before the feds firebombed and incinerated women and children and the same Wiley Drake that was in a Florida courtroom aiding the release of Brother Kent Hovind who was prosecuted and framed by a prosecuter that later committed suicide after his true nature became public. The same Wiley Drake that fought off the false charges of the IRS by the atheist hate group that hates God.

Yes that same Wiley Drake that I sat next to on a Jet Blue flight to Sacramento with to speak out against SB 277 and we walked the halls of the Capital together and met with legislators. As far as the churches I do know who wasnt protesting and who never spoke publicly against the brutal murder of Kelly Thomas that you still defend the police over. I was out on the sidewalk at all the protests with a camera. As far as the homeless currently, the churches that feed the homeless are using food donated to them by the congregants. Where is all the money going?

              • #86 by Anonymous on March 4, 2016 - 2:48 pm

Kent Howard! A fraud and a tax cheat whose made millions of dollars and then tried to claim he wasn’t a US citizen. Now there’s a great role model! So if you get elected to the city council, you plan to inflict the good citizens of Fullerton with your nonsensical religious beliefs?

                • #87 by Joe Imbriano on March 4, 2016 - 7:02 pm

I think the religious beliefs of the murderers, the liquor joint owners and the money changers are far more dangerous in terms of their beliefs. Who is Kent Howard?

No comment on the secret finances of the huge cash registers in town? Oh yes make it all about Wiley Drake instead of Grace Ministries, Chris Meyer, Ryan Cantor and Joe Felz.

                  • #88 by Anonymous on March 4, 2016 - 7:17 pm

I have no problem with those people. And to make an accusation of secret finances and huge cash registers in town without specifics and hard evidence just amounts to another in your litany of conspiracy theories. Anyone who does something you don’t like is automatically part of some subversive plot. Situations that don’t turn out the way you want are all conspiracies. Anyone who owns a liquor business is a sinner. That is pure insanity.

        • #90 by CPA on March 7, 2016 - 2:15 pm

Churches 990 forms are not available for public inspection. I suspect that even if they were, there would be far fewer churches in existence because of it. Joe is right on the money, no pun intended of course.

    • #91 by Anonymous on March 3, 2016 - 3:08 pm

The greedy politicians are what they are, regardless of Joe.

You are defending the further deterioration of Fullerton. Do you stand to lose something if the corrupted status quo does not prevail?

Moving to close the city library is unpardonable, while at the same time awarding more unsustainable compensation to city fire and police is further evidence of corruption.

You choose to look the other way; so be it.

Take your eye off the messenger, unless it’s really the messenger you are after.

      • #92 by Joe Imbriano on March 3, 2016 - 6:11 pm

Of course it is the messenger they are after. Its all they got, because they know I am right and they are all going to be exposed.

    Great questions.

Pursuant to my rights under the California Public Records Act (Government Code Section 6250 et seq.), I ask to obtain a copy of the following items, which I understand to be held by your agency:

    1) All utility bills for the Hunt Branch Library for the last 5 years prior it its closure.
    2) All utility bills for the Hunt Branch Library since its closure and subsequent lease to the church
    3) Proof that Grace ministries has been paying for the utility bills during the lease.
    4) The names and salaries of the people that worked there and their current salaries and positions with the City of Fullerton after the closure.
    5) The names of those who were terminated due to the closure of the Hunt Branch

I ask for a determination on this request within 10 days of your receipt of it, and an even prompter reply if you can make that determination without having to review the record[s] in question.

It is obscene renting that thing to their pals for less than a 1 bedroom studio costs in town. They just want to sell it for a song and a dance with a sole source bid to Grace so they can lock down the Korean vote.

  13. #94 by Anonymous on March 3, 2016 - 1:54 pm

The $125,000 a month is the cost of keeping the Hunt operating as a full time library open six days a week. Even when it was last used as a library, it was open just two days a week.

    • #95 by Fullerton Lover on March 3, 2016 - 7:08 pm

The math is a little fuzzy to me on why a library whose building and contents have already been paid for, would cost $5,000 a day to operate?

Ryan Cantor is very good friends with the Meyer family for those of you who don’t realize that.

Looks like he tried to do his friend Chris Meyer a favor for Felz and bamboozle the board and it almost worked.

You guys need a pat on the back on this one. About time someone can call out what is left of the roots of the problems in Foolerton. The old guard installed a new crew that is still wet behind the ears a few years back. Ryan Cantor is Sean Paden’s campaign manager and Chris Meyer’s water boy similar to Chris Thompson’s being Shawn Nelson’s water boy. Bruce is Fitzgerald’s water boy and Sean Paden is Bruce’s waterboy. Travis was Bitchala’s water boy and Bennett is about to become Greg’s boss very soon.

Felz is on his way out and Hughes is right behind him. Brasteri will take the lead and Mckinley will be on retainer in the basement. You guys need to watch your backs with this crew. They mean business.

Bushala spent half a million dollars and thousands of man hours to get us to the point where Bruce and Greg have just let it all pass through their fingers as Fitzgerald and Flory run theirs through their hair while it all goes down the drain onto Pringle’s bucket list.

I wish you the best fighting all this. I am too old and tired to do what you and Barry do. Frankly I don’t know where you manage to muster the will or the strength to keep at it.

Good summary with facts. Not often we see that here. That’s the main question right now and issue. Felz and Hughes are done. They will be gone next year and smiling as they run off into the sunset. Who will be taking over? It’s usually the 2nd man to Felz, who he just created a new position for, and the best Captain in Hughes eyes behind him that he mentored. Fun times ahead.

Sell it. It’s a blight and libraries like this are a thing of the past. The trustees want it gone. They did their best. Sell it. Plus it will take away another homeless gathering spot. These spots like this just attract the homeless element. We need them all moved to Santa Ana.

    • #103 by Anonymous on June 21, 2016 - 1:27 pm

… the library had nothing to do with attracting the homeless to Fullerton.

…I believe that the homeless shelter where over 200 people sleep a night at the armory less than a block away from the Hunt library would be the real reason.

      • #104 by Reality Is..... on June 23, 2016 - 11:07 am

Plenty of places and areas to blame. They just get moved from one spot to the next now. When one neighbor or business doesn’t want them, they just move to the next guys. Never ending cycle. Homeless shelters are a terrible idea. They just infiltrate the city each morning at 5am when they are kicked out. Stealing all of our stuff and pissing and pooping all over our businesses and alleys. The never ending California problem that only got worse when we passed Prop 47. Biggest mistake California ever made.

  18. #105 by Anonymous on November 30, 2016 - 3:32 pm

Such an uncanny way of tying it all together painting such a sad, yet realistic picture. This is a stunning expose of the utter vileness and corruption of our society. I am speechless. What has been presented here is a bit much to take in. I can see why people call him crazy because what he presents just overloads you with information but it makes so much sense. These people are shameful.

  19. #106 by Anonymous on December 2, 2016 - 10:38 am

I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have seen Greg Sebourn’s appointee to the library board, Ryan Cantor inject references to the person who runs this web site’s mental state into online discussions in forums like Nextdoor and Facebook. I find it ironic that Greg’s sister as a Nextdoor lead, allowed the posts to remain up doing the same. What I find incredibly ironic is that Cantor is up to his eyeballs in this kind of shit exposed here. What a sad state of affairs we have in our city. Is it any wonder these people have to sleep on the ground?

  20. #107 by Fullerton's Conscience on December 2, 2016 - 12:53 pm

But don’t worry, the people’s savior Bruce Whitaker will come to the rescue or maybe not!

He and his closest supporters, Sean Paden, David Curlee and Joshua Ferguson, are too busy being worried that a city employee may have spent 100 dollars too much on a hotel room.

They ignore the Hunt Library giveaway and of course the 4 to 5 million that is to this day still going down the drain over time because of the sweetheart deal on tithe Fullerton Golf Course. Why talk about millions ladies and gentlemen when you can give your supporters what they want by highlighting the potential for overspending by a hundred dollars.

The election is over and a small percentage of the people have spoken (but enough to get them elected in our corrupt city election set up) for Fitzgerald, Whitaker and Silva.

Well this is great news if you are a developer or a city employee. But if you are a resident of the city, it means business as usual and for Fullerton that is extremely bad news for the people of Fullerton.
